Just a little idea. Basically, Gannon has taken over hyrule. He is hosting a horse racing tournament with the greatest racers from all corners of the world. And, he decides to invite Link, since he brags that his horse, Epona, is faster than any other horse.

So, basically, the game is a horse racing minigame.

Would this even come close to working if I got a good team?

Well I don't know. Ganondorf inviting Link to a tournament?
I think people would agree with me when I say that Ganondorf would never invite Link to anything!

Plus, this would go against the legends of Hyrule; the whole plot. If Link was alive while Ganondorf was still alive, then its his destiny to go on a journey and destroy him...
This could be that Link and Ganondorf have a horse race against eachother. But never Ganondorf actually inviting Link to something. That seems too... "Nice-Nice", know what I mean?

The only way Ganondorf would invite Link for such a race would be if Ganondorf would be able to get the triforce of courage by winning the race. So yes, I agree with Mewgull, you should change it a bit.
