My girlfriend keeps trying to get me to switch to oil paints, but I'm poor and don't want to buy any while I still have so many acrylics left.

The switch is definitely worth it, I can get so much richer colors with oils than I could with acrylic. Only problem with oil is that its a pain in the ass to clean up, you have to have dedicated studio space and a sink to use it.

I'm surprised by your oil painting, really amazing! your computer graphics are ok, but not that good compared with the oil ones ;p

Thanks, I've been really pushing my traditional skills the past year. I'd like to take what I've learned into the digital real soon though, I just hate painting on the computer now. You can't get the blending and color mixing anywhere near like traditional mediums.

This is the last painting I completed in the past couple of months. Been really lazy and last semester drained the hell outta me haha. Its an oil painting that is 3x5 feet on a canvas I stretched. It recently went up in a local art gallery and i thought I'd post it to get some feedback.

Heres a few pics of it in the gallery

Its been forever since I've done a digital portrait so I did two :D haha. Peter Lorre has always been hard for me to draw right, I still don't think I have him captured right. The mouth is odd.

Long time no post :p. I've been distracted by youtube and broadcasting live recently. I've been working a lot with markers lately. This is the result of 2 hours with Prismacolors.

Very messy but that was the effect I was going for.

I use intuous 3, I've gone through four different tablets and this is the best one so far. The cheaper ones just aren't very sensaive once you've used the Intuos but if you want cheap go with a Wacom Graphire.

Wow! You are an amazing artist! I love the first one, the tones you use are amazing! How did you get so good? Did you teach yourself or did you take art lessons?
I'm self taught but next year I will be taking an anatomy class.

Very nice! You're really good at using colors :D Finding the "right" skin color can be challenging, but you have managed
to pull it off!
I still have trouble picking them also.

I did another one but this time I tried drawing with an eraser and white chalk.

I voted vista. And I'm not explaining myself. Since Revan does not care what others think.

That's awesome. Amen to our lord!
I think there is something weird with his eyes, but maybe that's just my impression... Anyways, great job. :D
Yep his eyes gave me alot of trouble for some reason. Notice in the video I erase them several times.

I'm voting for Rudy since he's the most likely to beat Hillary IMO. I would vote for Thomson but I doubt he has a chance even though I like him.

At first I was gonna ask if you used reference but BLARGH, even if, it's still an amazing thing. Very amazing.

What tools did you use? I know you said Charcoal, but... just in case you used something else, too.

I use a mechanical pencil with a hard led. Other than that it's only charcoals and a few blending sticks. And yes I did use a reference from a photo, I sill have trouble drawing people completely from memory. I hope to develop that skill when I take art classes next year. I'm self taught and have never taken a class so I need some formal training.

Still playing and learning how to use charcoals. This I think is one of better ones I've done.
