Only idiots make 90 minute cutscenes in video games, plain and simple.
Talking trash about Kojima puts you on shallow ice. If he makes it, he makes it good.[/fanboy]
Much like everyone says Al Gore is right, and guess what - he isn't.
1) Why is this in Development Discussion?
2) It's a Naruto episode, according to the title, what do you expect? Narutards flock to those things.
XFD, 90 minute cutscenes?
Epic
!@#$%
Fail.
I feel sorry for anyone who wants to sit through a !@#$% 90 minute cutscene. If i just killed some hard ass !@#$% boss, the last thing i want is a long ass cutscene, i want to save. It's sad that gaming has come so far that a game needs a cutscene anywhere near 90 minutes long.
If it was a simple story like a zelda-type one, you wouldn't even have felt like you'd accomplished anything.Yeah, god help us if we get attached to a game that doesn't have its story spoon-fed to us in hours of cinemas.
Perhaps some people enjoy the feel of games and not as much the story?
Simply swearing a lot does not make something funny, but thankfully the AVGN is generally a well written and well produced "show". A lot of his observations are very clever, and being an aspiring filmmaker myself, I can appreciate the effort he puts into editing his clips. The montages, the "host segments", and the funny use of repetition (see the Silver Surfer episode for a great example) all make for a pretty original show.
I also enjoy that he is in character as it makes it more than a simple review, but rather a showcase of acting talent. It's also evident that James really knows his pop culture and I'm always impressed by his references and general movie/game knowledge. The only downside? I'm not a huge fan of most of the over-the-top "guest appearances". Some are fun, but recently they've taken up too much time when I'd rather see him picking apart crappy games.
QuoteIt's ridiculous, you're comparing /zfgc/ to /b/.. That's like comparing the very hungry catterpillar to Satan.Your reading way to much into this you know >.>
No.
There's no mention of /b/ there my friend.
