such a piece of !@#$%. NOW there's a problem with p2p programs:

Limewire: upon trying to boot it up, it just sits at the screen, stuck at 12 percent (Loading HTML Engine). I've googled for help, but to no avail.

BearShare: it wont connect me to the internet. It says "unable to detect internet connection" when I clearly have one available. I've given it exceptions in my firewall, i've even disabled my firewall, but nothing works.

It's all good; it must be a compatibility issue with Vista; I downloaded Limewire 4.150 Beta and it works fine. I'm so close to just chucking my goddamned machine right out the window it's not even funny.

Well even though you fixed Limewire, for either you could try going to the properties and changing the compatibility mode to Windows XP.

Not sure if thats in Vista, as I don't have it XD

Regarding downloading commercial software-
Please refrain from vista piracy talks o.o...

Regarding the legitimacy of this thread-
Since there are legit uses for p2p programs, and I can provide useful input here... here it is :P---

Vista warning from the start----- "80% of your applications will not work" :p upgrading is a mistake until next year or so

I hope Windows Vista will improve quicker, I can't use this computer with XP my whole life. If I buy a new PC here, the PC will usually have Vista installed on...
