I don't understand what's wrong with designing a game in 8-bit graphics O_o.
If it's what the developer wants to do, if it's what they want their game to end up as, if it's what they want to see as their finished artwork, then... why right do you have to criticise it?
om'g
I have every right to criticize them for being lazy money grubbing whores.
It's a great business plan though.
EXACTLY WHAT I'M SAYING.
And all you fanboys who want to relive the NES days?
Dust off the NES, or boot up the VC. But for !@#$%'s sake, there's no need for a major software developing company to release a new, commercial on three consoles, that does nothing but reuse 20 year old sprites and does nothing to reinvigorate anything.
Sure, you want the glory days back, but there's better ways of doing that. I mean, New Super Mario Bros. pretty much did that for the NES Mario, only it didn't look or play like a cheap maphack; no, it was a
new game that managed to instill a sense of nostalgia without being a carbon copy of a game that only looked and played the way it did because it was impossible to make better games. Hey, guess what, we have the technology. We can rebuild the !@#$% game, and make it something much better, not the same old same old from 20 years ago.
Okay I ranted a bit there, but still, you get my point.
