Just posted this as a conversation topic about the Olympics. The swimming relay inspired me to start this topic.

Team USA won by .08 seconds. That is epic. France got second. I think they were bragging or taunting beforehand. Guess karma got them. Still, I've never seen anything so epic in the olympics! Also, last night during the fencing review, the Pirates of the Caribbean theme was playing in the background.

Any other comments on the olympics?

I've been watching a lot of the Australia-specific events, as you'd expect.

I haven't watched a lot of the water-specific events, I just saw one of the Australian girls got a gold in the pool at one point. I watched the last part of the men's cycling the other day which was pretty intense in that last 10 minutes. And I was watching Australia vs. Argentina in the soccer last night and I was pretty sad to see Australia got their asses served to them on a plate. The Argentina guys were being dicks D:.

Oh, and the woman's weight-lifting... 40kg women lifting 120kg. Insane.

That's what inspired me to start this topic. !@#$%, Team USA was like a shark going after it's prey at the end there. Just speeding up barely past France. It was an epic race, that's for sure. .08 second difference. Really. That's incredibly close. Also, love the last line of that article.

This is possibly the gayest thing I will ever say, but dayuuum, Michael Phelps has an awesome body >.<.  Funny ears, but an awesome body.  Oh, but yeah, I saw that race and it was pretty epic.  There was a female event that had a similar outcome but with USA losing by that much.

I liked Phelps' reaction. It was like, OOOHHH, OH YEAH! !@#$% YEAH! THAT IS !@#$% AWESOME! He looked like an ape or something for a moment there before he realized he'd gotten a gold with the rest of the relay team the way he was bent over and stuff.

Meh, gymnastics and swimming have been pretty good.  I cannot comprehend how Phelps can recover from a world record and then win a race just 50 minutes later when some of that time is also dedicated to the award getting.  Damn.

Meh, I am just surprised that Team USA in gymnastics is doing so well considering they're packed with alternates.  The Chinese on still rings were the best though in my opinion; they were doing things that people thought impossible and lesser things have caused muscles rips in weaker people, but it was amazing the amount of control and ease.  Well actually on the television the US is going through some tough little mistakes, so hopefully I didn't jinx it.

lol, the commentators were saying something along the lines of one of the gymnasts having their knee explode in some previous competition and even then they were sticking landings.  None of that hopping !@#$%, just a planted landing.  I was expecting shin bones to shoot to the ceiling.

The comments section made me facepalm irl. "olo silly frenchies remember who it was who bailed your asses out in WW2" Seriously, I have never seen one online discussion involving America and France that hasn't had that line missing. It's so annoying, and just makes me want to scream! Why can't you guys drop what happened in WW2? You know? Over 70 years ago? Funny how no-one brings up Vietnam or anything. But I mean, was that article even trolling there? That's the thing that worries me most, that some people do actually have this attitude. It's so bad it's not even funny.

I haven't watched the Olympics much, I'll have to watch them tomorrow. Is baseball an Olympic sport?

They must not have noticed that the atricle wasn't an article, but a BLOG ENTRY! It says Olympic blog at the top. Those people are idiots, and if they have kids there is no justice in the world.

Man, Michael Phelps is insane. He is breaking all kinds of records, and he's held most of them.

And yes, Kyubi, baseball is in the olympics. But it might not be for long cause it's in testing to see if there's interest and not a permanent event.

Yeah, this year seems to be particularity bad for us. We have some promising events soon though so we might be able to come out with something.

The whole 'swim suit' debate is pathetic.
Ignore me if this isn't actually an issue, it's just that Aus has it on a crap channel who actually can't do a good sport coverage, and chuck it full of ads, especially current affair ads,
But anyway, the swimsuits being banned is like banning rowing boats.

Anyway, yeah i'm watching the rowing a lot, we almost beat USA in the semifinals I think it was,  in the eights, Also, we win a lot in the swimming, go Steph. Rice!
