I'm making a zelda fangame using minish cap graphics, i started just a little while ago and have a basic engine completed already.

Story:
A long time ago, a guardian named Rahlik was banished from the Q-Nic Guardians for reasons of treachery. In revenge,
he tried to take over and destroy Hyrule. The four remaining Q-Nic Guardians used a lot of their powers to defeat Rahlik, and
sealed him in the Sharn Sword that was created by the four guardians. The Sword was then placed in The Temple
of Sharn. When it seemed peace had settled on Hyrule they left, but left behind five rings filled with the rest of their
powers in case Rahlik should rise again. These rings were hidden in sacred temples, protected by strong monsters, and one of
them were given to the royal family. A hundred years later, a person named Terna discovers the long abandoned Temple of Sharn
and pulls out the sword. Rahlik is freed. He kills Terna and sets out to take over Hyrule again.

Demos:
REALLY Early Beta Demo (Beta 1, just a very basic engine): http://www.megaworm.com/images/./data/media/4/Zelda_2.zip

Credits:
YoVoBaller for the story

I'll post some screenshots after i get some progress on the main game ;)
(Note: I'll probably post like 15 demos before the game is completed, i like to release demos often :P)

Give me some feedback on the name, i may change it if not many people like it :P

Since it's a REALLY Early Beta, I'll just state the obvious, which you probably noticed. You run into the bushes... quite a good bit before you actually get to the bushes. Also it seems Link is moving just a little bit than he's actually walking. But they may just be me. And of course you can't walk diagonly. The walking and sword swing animations are good though. Please keep working on it. Oh yeah, do you have a story yet? Or do you need one? I could write one. or there are probably PLENTY of people who would write one for you, if you don't have a story yet.

That's an engine... Save it for yourself and wait until you get an idea for a game (that works with the engine), there, think about the story, and from the story the title...
Other than that :P Good luck, and hope you can finish it ;)

Yeah, i noticed...i made the collision thing in a stupid way :P
(You're not supposed to walk diagonally ;))

EDIT: Write one if you want, then i get more time to work on the game itself ;)

Well...I didn't have any good screenshots to post so i had to post a demo :P (I'll make a much better demo soon)

I can probably make a story and name myself, I just started on the engine, I actually started on the engine today :P (GMT +1)

Sweet. Good luck, I'll be thinking and writing! It's the only thing I can do to help a game, since I suck at coding, and I haven't really tried being a spriter. lol

People don't like to download something if they don't see a screen first.

I downloaded the demo with the thoughts hmm no screens... hmm... will it be worth to spent my time on this...
What can I say about it not anything good. Its so basic actually too basic why?

1)You can't even slash a bush.
2)The collison is horrible.
3)You can't walk even diagonal.
4)More and more

I made it so you can't walk diagonally on purpose, diagonal walking looks ugly anyway since there are no sprites for walking diagonally. If you really want to be able to walk diagonal, it's no problem for me to put it in again. Though diagonal walking isn't neccessary.
What's so wrong about the collision except that you stop a few pixels before colliding with the grass, which i have already fixed? :P
And yeah i said it was basic, i'll post a better one very soon (and then I'll post it with my autoupdater/autodownloader so i can test its compability on different computers :P)

lol did you ever played an Zelda game? XD then you would know how much better it is to walk diagonal and also did you played a 2d Zelda game. And did you noticed how smooth the collison is how close you can get to an object?
