Yeah, this coming week, PS3 owners will be able to download Yoda while 360 owners will be able to download Darth Vader.

Considering that you'll have to purchase them, I'm sure in their minds, pretty darn well.

Nah, seeing as how they will probably only run about $5-6 if that.

If I hadn't known this was planned from the get-go, I might have put an interested response.

There's such a double standard about religion in the modern world. Catholics can gather, wear white robes, and say "In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti" and be considered normal.

But if my friends and I gather, wear black robes, and say  "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", we're considered cultists.

Yay for nickling and diming your fanbase to death.

Or, as Fissure put it, $5-6'ing your fans to death.

Seriously, you're getting charged like 10% of the original cost of the game for a feature that there was no good reason not to include in the first place?

It's not even like the Pokemon games where different versions encourage gamers to play socially and co-operate; this was simply a dickhole move.

^ Or perhaps a source of revenue for a development studio which has high costs to compensate for.

Wasn't there a video like a week after SC4 came out that showed a Darth Vader vs Yoda that someone hacked in?

If this was new, post-game content, then I could forgive it, but it's not; it's content that was contained in an otherwise identical version of the game.

Going back to the Pokemon analogy, it would be like Nintendo selling the ability to catch Pearl-version Pokemon in Diamond and vice versa; there's no reasonable excuse for it at all.

If development costs were that high, they should've charged more for the game, OR they should be offering new post-game content now, but the fact that they held back on features that could've been implemented in the first place just reeks of cynicism and commercialism.

Welcome to the world of BUSINESS.

Christ, they have a right to release this !@#$% however they feel like it. If you don't want it, nobody's forcing you to do !@#$%. This is absolutely no different from 90% of other !@#$% games that offer DLC. They used the different characters as incentives for buying each version of the !@#$% game. If they had charged more for the !@#$% game, fewer people would have purchased it, making them less money. :/

More people might have also purchased the goddamn game if you got all of the features in one package without having to pay for extra and download it online.

Yes they have the right to release their content however they like, but I also reserve the right to !@#$% about it when it's clear that they're just profiteering off'f their fanbase.

And if they used DLC to offer new characters, that'd be great, I'd love it. (And I do mean new rather than "purposely held back on), but Vader and Yoda were available at launch and really should've been implemented on each console from day one at no extra charge to the consumer. There's no excuse for this other than "we wanted to squeeze money from our fans".

Who cares, be glad you're at least getting them both in one game.

They are charging you more for the game, in the form of DLC. They have to make their bottomline somehow, and they can't make money off of the base game anymore because development's getting pricey.

Okay, on one hand it's a cheap tactic because they are charging you to unlock the characters which are already in the game's files so probably just have a 0 in them meaning do not read the DLC turns to a 1 and not to add the characters to the game.

But on the other hand, lol capitalism :D
