Well, not me personally. Some guys took a wii apart:
http://www.popsci.com/popsci/whatsnew/2526081bfbcfe010vgnvcm1000004eecbccdrcrd.html

It's interesting how small the circuits are, considering the size of computer motherboard or whatever. And if things get smaller as they always do (notice how packed the DS was compared to the DS light). Wonder how big the Wii-lite will be? (not that I'd like them to make one... >_<)

Wow, technology is indeed amazing :D
By the way, I really doubt that a Wii-lite will be made... It's not like Nintendo is like Sony, nor that Nintendo has ever done it out from the handhelds, or at least, I don't remember second versions of N64 or GameCube.

There was a NES2 and a SNES2 (Not so sure about the second one)

Yeah, there was an SNES 2, my aunt had it. I don't remember the NES 2 though...there's the NEX now, but I doubt that would count...it's just for the few people that still have working cartridges. And I think they had talked about coming out with a new N64, but it went under, just like the system itself.

And it's kinda sad when people take all this stuff apart...I mean why?

Unofficial hardware developers and people like the people who make action replay and gameshark have to take them apart, but a lot more carefully, as they usually keep them running and read the memory and stuff while it's running.

Pssh, it isn't that bad. I for one find it fascinating! Not like that Wii was Coming to my Area anyway..

..and despite that, I'm sure that my skills will soon let me track down a Wii for my mom to give me, anyway. If somebody beats us to it, then oh well.. they're the better ..buyer.... take it apart should you feel like it :P.

Really, it's not like its broken for sure. Perhaps these guys know what they are doing? Maybe they can put it back together without problems?

If I knew anything about electronics, I would certanly take mine apart (if I had one) I like seeing how things work on the inside...

I think the article that linked to it said they'd already broken it, and were taking it apart just to see.

I've often taken things apart. Usually it's more difficult than you'd expect because you need a gambit screwdriver most of the time. If you use a normal screwdriver, like I do, the more you take it apart and back together again, the more mashed up the screw becomes. I've never taken apart an actual console, as for one this voids the waranty, and two, if I go wrong it'll be quite a shame. Broken things, fine.

What I have done is modify my (GameCube) controllers - I've added an extra Z button on the underneath to two, and added LEDs the flash when it rumbles. Not that I was the first to do stuff like that...
