Legend of Zelda:The Final Age
A new evil sweeps across Hyrule. The land begins to wither. Races flee their homes.
Only a lad that has not been tainted by the evil can save this forgotten world.
A lad who never stepped a foot into Hyrule...until now.
July 15, 2008 Update
The new update has removed the rolling ability. I felt that it wasn't needed for my game so I removed it.
I also worked quite a bit on the menu.
I also let you guys see a sneak peak at Southern Hyrule Field as well as an entrance to Gerudo Desert.
No collisions yet so you can freely move about the overworld.
Updated the Adult Link somewhat via help from Pyro. Added a special function to the U key.
I'll let you find out what it does ^^.
What will set this fan game apart from others?(Not saying it would be better...)
Combinations! In the near future, a demo will be out where you can combine items with your element powers to have cool features:
- Iron Boots/Water Fairy = Boots that protect you from extreme sources of heat(lava)
- Iron Boots/Fire Fairy = Boots that melt away ice in some thought provoking puzzles
Fire bombs, ice bombs, fire arrows, ice arrows, a hookshot you directly control(as in "guided" not point and shoot), flamethrower(>> sorta, remember the sucking jar from MC? Think reverse but add in a fire fairy ^^)
Just some thinks to expect in the near future!

MC Link is just a placement filler. I am trying to work on a edit of it to make him look older/more adult.
Pretty much all I have at the moment.

Small update.
I reworked the title screen. Alot nicer looking.
I changed my funky resolution to 240 x 160.
File registration about 33% complete.
I always like making the title screen and such before I really dive into the game itself so...lol
This MAY enter NCFC >.>
-
Don't mean to post again so soon, but, I added some screenies.
Check first post.

Seems pretty good.

Seems pretty good.
^^ thanks. I threw in another pic up there. It gives you a better idea of what that slab looking screenshot is.
None of those are mock-ups either. Those are all taken from in game.

Intro and Select Screen WIP Demo
The Intro is not complete thus just hit enter

Its a good start. I like it. And the intro is good so far minus the weird horse sprite that you put in it from the Oracle games. I could barely even tell what it was. And I just love the selection screen, the style and everything. It looks really nice.

Yeah, I was messing with an idea for when the title appears, but I already changed it on my end.

Ok, kool. I'll be checking back here alot. XD

New Demo uploaded.

(Also in first post ^^ )
New screenies in the first post.
Most of the title screen and file select screen is 100% concepted. The title itself needs work. The file select screen just needs Delete and New added to it.
Oh and now you can play the walk demo with it too ^^.

I like it, but I can walk on the trees... plus I can't play the awesome 100% game. :P

Bug with rolling, try rolling up/down and across at the same time.

I have decided to just remove rolling. there is no definitive need for it.

It looks nice to me. The intro still needs a little more work (it still seems a little bare) but its still pretty good. I'll be looking forward to more updates.

It looks good. But you should probably add collisions now, if you havent. And there is a mapping error on the river edge. I couldnt tell exactly where but check the rivers edge and make sure all the mapping looks right.

Small update for you all to see.
I am not telling when you come into this area, but if you are a smart person, there is a hint somewhere ^^.
Progress is coming nicely. I just really need a spriter >.> I hate using placeholders >.<
and I credit .Takam for the tree. I saw a screenshot of a game he was/is working on in the gallery and edited it to remove the ladder.

Another new area. This is in the very beginning of the game. Link is captured and placed into prison.
A few days later, the jail shakes and some doors break open. Link takes this opportunity to escape but must do so through sewers as whatever caused the shaking, collapsed the main entrance to the jail.
Enjoy the first area!

Looks good! This is coming along nicely!

So, does that tree come to life and become like a Deku or Maku Tree? Or is it just a tree and I'm reading too much into it?
For some reason that tree just reminds me of Dark Cloud 2, or Oracle of Ages, both of which have a wise old tree that is destroyed in the past, and fixing the past revives them. I don't know why, it just reminds me of them.
Anyways, a GUIDED hookshot? :o You have just made my dreams come true. XD I've always wanted a guided hookshot, but I don't have the programming skills to make one. (not yet anyways) So it better be amazing...no pressure. ;)
-
sorry to nitpicking it, but if you are going to make the prison a dungeon, then you need more details. Add some torchs and some broken prison doors. :P

-_-
That is just the tiled area. I DO have torches and more details...lul

kool, nice updates while i was gone, looking forward to more.

Another Area.
Hyrule Castle Town...It may seem small, but it's like that on purpose.
I have been doing more than just tiling so don't worry ;)
-
The building placement seems odd in that some of the houses are right next to the walls and one of the houses doors immediately faces a wall. Then again, those are not really the houses. In a small space that has a central path, I would recommend the houses from Hyrule Town that have side access. Having pathways even in small town area also makes it more like having adventurous areas. There is one city in Illusion of Gaia that really captures the feel of what you are going for well, although it arguably has more stone and concrete.
-
I agree with 4Sword, though it looks pretty well tiled. Fix those things, and add some stuff to the grassy area surrounding the houses, and it'll be pretty awesome!!

OFFTOPIC: That's the city near the mountain area with giant mushrooms right?
ONTOPIC: Looks pretty good so far, keep it up.

I know that it is not Fuchsia and I know that the city am referring to is why you wait in line to get the dark friar ability for Freedan and there is a church with slaves in the back room or something. Anyway, I was also thinking that the way the water works with the water-powered windmill next to the drain holes might be a little odd if not make the corners look constricted.

That looks good and all, but it defeats the purpose of why mine looks barren.
