At the 30th of december of the year 2010 Bobby Farrell died. He was the male ive performer in the group Boney M. The group had their peak of popularity during the 1970's in the disco scene, with songs like "Daddy Cool", "Ma Baker", "Rasputin" and "Rivers of Babylon".

I can't say that I am a big fan of Boney M, but some of their songs are nice to listen to. In Austria, however Boney M is still a big hit. During the week snowboarding there I heard at least one Boney M song every half hour being played in the apres-ski.

It makes me wonder who of you knows of Boney M and who likes their songs?

This is the first I've heard of "Daddy Cool" and "Boney M". Must be an obscure band. I won't bother listening to it, since I don't like music from before 1980. Thanks for the heads-up, though. If anyone ever mentions this band, I'll simply say, "what? the band with the dead guy?", heh.

I've heard of them, but I only know their song Rasputin.  I'm not exactly into disco.

I'm not into disco either. I even think that most of their songs are monotonous. But they are good sing along songs for the apres-ski. What I found interesting is that Bobby Farrell died on December 30th of 2010 in St. Petersburg. And Grigori Rasputin, that their song Rasputin is all about died December 29th of 1916 in St. Petersburg. Like it is karma.
