Graphics / Reworks (and some bonus art)
« on: April 11, 2024, 12:25:38 pm »
I got a bit nostalgic over this place and wanted to do some reworks on my old art from my time here. I tried to find as much as I could here, aswell as on my parents old computer. Managed to find some art but far from everything. If anyone have anything saved, shoot me a PM here or a DM on Discord.

The first thing that I wanted to rework was a map from the old community project KoT. It was the grocery shop, where the original vision is still here but more logical and, well, better. (Might need to add some more ice to the walls)

The second thing I wanted to revisit was an edit that I made from Leduardos King of Red Lions sprite. The edit is based on an edit Xfixium made. This is still a little bit of an wip, need to finish the waves on the right version.

The third thing is some art I did last year, some custom OoT 2D sprites. Heavy wip.

I have more things coming and I hope this will spark some creativity here!

Graphics / Pixel dump [10 years of pixel art]
« on: May 20, 2020, 10:04:10 am »
I still lurk here and I still do pixel art. Just realised that I have been doing pixel art for 10 years now. That's crazy and I'm still learing a lot of new stuff.

So here are some 32x32 item icons for a fan made Zelda game that is cancelled.

The icons with the red background are edits and those with a gray one are done by me. Feel free to use them but don't forget to give credit.

I have more stuff to post soon-ish~

Graphics / I still do pixel art, but not as much
« on: December 03, 2017, 09:59:11 am »
It's been a while! And I still do pixel art, but not as much as I used to.

So as a warm up I did this quick little mock up. I want to keep my focus on Zelda related stuff so I can make art in this style and maybe have enough art to turn it into a project some day. Who knows?

A new and updated artwork is coming!

Feedback is always nice  :)

Entertainment / First time thingy

This is something that I never thought I would ever do. As you guys know, I'm more into creating art like concept art, sprites and such but music is something that has been growing on me for quite some time. So yesterday, I spent the entire day to make this. I hope it's somewhat good since I'm a real noob when it comes to creating music.

I would like to hear what you guys think.

Anyone familiar with the name of the topic? No? Does Daft Punk ring any bells? Good!

As of right now, I'm on vacation. In Sweden we have something called "Semester" every summer, which means that we are free from work a couple of weeks. In my case, I have five weeks off from work which is sweet but also quite terrifying. So I have giving myself a task to complete over these five weeks and that is building the helmet that Guy-Manuel wears in the two-man group Daft Punk.

This is going to be a difficult project but I think I will pull it off. Down below you can read all the steps I have planned so far that I will have to work through. (The list is going to be updated once a while since I will probably discover new things to do.)

- Building the Base - [STEP 1] :::::::::: 100% Done
- Glassfiber and Putty - [STEP 2] :::::::/// 70% Done
- Sanding and Refinement - [STEP 3] ::://///// 30% Done
- Molding - [STEP 4] ////////// 0% Done
- Casting - [STEP 5] ////////// 0% Done
- Building a Vacuum Former - [STEP 6] :://////// 20% Done
- Cast the visor with the Vacuum Former - [STEP 7] ////////// 0% Done
- Chrome the helmet cast - [STEP 8] ////////// 0% Done
- Install LED's in the helmet - [STEP 9] ////////// 0% Done
- Paint and assemble the visor on the helmet - [STEP 10] ////////// 0% Done

A total of ten steps that will all take a lot of time to get through, but it will not stop me.

Stay tuned for photos from Day 1 and Day 2 of the build.

Wooopeti, another art thread here at ZFGC. Star and Kami are the responsible ones for motivating me to do this, but it's a motivation that I need to get things done when it comes to drawing XD

Anyways, first piece of art is for a upcoming indie game I'm developing. This is the main character of the game, I'm quite satisfied on how it turned out, buuuut this might not be the final design of the little guy :)

Artwork / Rules for acceptance of artwork
« on: September 14, 2012, 03:08:03 pm »
In order to keep things straight and not make the whole process of making art confusing and what not, there are some rules to follow. As this game uses the graphical style from Minish Cap, the artwork need to be in Wind Waker/Minish Cap style, with that said the technique that is being used is pretty simple.

So, below are the requirements that the artwork must have!
- Each color can only have two shadings, one light and one dark.
- A basic paper texture to bring out the nice look of a Wind Waker styled artwork.

Here is an example:

And here is the paper texture I used.

As long as the rules will be followed, I hope that there won't be any problems! And good luck in making art :)

Concept Art / [Work in progress] Volcanoraxus

Still a lot to do on this guy, like the body and overall design to make him more appealing. Though, I've got the head and leg design done. I would like to get approval at this before I move on. :)

I made these two sprites based of the old concept arts that was laying around a long time ago, this might be something you guys can use.

Discussion / -The Legend of Zelda: Soulkeepers Lyre-
« on: November 01, 2011, 11:52:00 pm »

- Prologue -

A long time ago, in the desperate times of order and chaos, an unknown evil was born within the sacred heart of Hyrule. With no warning, the evil strikes to take control over the order and chaos for the golden land. But luckily the goddesses heard the calls from the people in Hyrule and they sent down the Royal Soulkeeper with his Lyre to take back the control and banish the evil from Hyrule. The people was grateful and lived in peace, until one day...

- Concept -

So, last week I felt a big urge to do something, something creative. Something I could work on and be happy over. And I decided to make a Zelda game, a Zelda game that had a new fresh idea. So for the last couple of days I've been thinking about different ideas that would be good to combine the Zelda universe with and I think I have a good idea that could work.

What I had in mind for a good concept is quite simple and yet original. This game will work of the organic life in Hyrule (might change the name of the world). By the organic life I mean the weather etc, and to have control over this the player will receive a magical lyre. And by learning songs, the player can make it start raining, snowing and such things. The lyre will also play a big part in the dungeons, along with the new item that you will get. I haven't decided yet how many dungeons there will be yet, but a good amount would lay around four dungeons. I will also implant a upgrading system similar to the one in Skyward Sword.

The Legend of Zelda and all associated trademarks are the property of Nintendo.
All original assets are the property of Team Bombflowers and are not to be used without permission.

Entertainment / Ocarina of Time 3D Boss Records
« on: June 20, 2011, 09:39:56 am »
For those who own Ocarina of Time 3D for the 3DS might know about the Boss Challenge Mode that's within the game, where you can fight your favourite boss and break time records. So, I'm going to put up this "leaderboard" here on ZFGC so we can compete against each other by breaking records.

- The record must be set in the Boss Challenge Mode, not in story mode.
- To make sure no one cheats, you need to take a photo of the record and post here.

Discussion / Relearning GML
« on: April 24, 2011, 08:24:35 pm »
So yeah, as the title sais I need to relearn GML. I have completely forgot almost everything about the language as I haven't touched it in the past two years. So, my question to you guys here who are developing in Game Maker; Do you have any tips for how to get started again? I know that GML isn't a complex language to learn but you know, I'm a little bit slow to learn things  :P

Graphics / Poe MC Style
« on: January 01, 2011, 12:35:46 pm »
I was looking through the old archive of the old community project and I thought that this sprite was cool so I made my own version of it, still a wip.

Could be awesome to bring this project back up again.  ;)

Oh, and art made by Kylink.

Graphics / [WIP] Cragma MC Style
« on: November 25, 2010, 08:34:27 pm »
Had nothing to do today since it's snowing like !@#$% here and can't get anywhere.

Le' sprite in the attachments. Still a wip though and only the head.

C+C, before I go any further?

Graphics / Some random tiles I made
« on: November 15, 2010, 09:17:23 pm »
Sup guys, been working a little bit on some random stuff out of boredom. This is not connected to something relevant that is going on just some random stuff. Not so much to show but meh it's something.

The tiles do not have a specific size at all just a basic mock up. Might update this if I'm not too lazy. Don't mind the rock up in the right upper corner since it's a wip.  :P

Graphics / Bokoblin [Skyward Sword]
« on: June 19, 2010, 07:13:55 pm »
Alright, just want to clear things up right away; this sprite is not for use, it belongs to my project.

Anyways, here is a sprite that I made for my project based on the Bokoblin from Skyward Sword And yes, it's a custom style. Which means that all the graphic are done by me in this particular style and what I can say so far is that the style is real eye candy. So this is just a taste and test sprite of the style. The sprite is not complete yet either still need eyes and a nose.

Feedback would be nice.

Discussion / WIP: The Legend of Zelda: The Mask of Sheikah
« on: June 07, 2010, 07:13:46 pm »

Darkness are covering the fields in the golden land of Hyrule. Evil spirits and nightmares are haunting the people with no end. Is this the end of Hyrule or will the Hero of Time rise again and seal the spirits away? The destiny depends now on the chosen one...

Yep, now it's up again but this time with a completely new story line and engine. So, to start with, this project has never been dead at all, I've just been working on the OoT 2D allot and I never got time to continue on it until some days ago. I started to rewrite the story completely and went trough what kind of items, collectables and quests that are going to be in the finish product or even maybe a demo just to test them out to the public. At this moment there are a total of six items that I have decided that should be in the project but I'm not going to spoil it already.  ;)

There is also a total of six dungeons also, which means that you will get one of the six items in one of these temples.

So, the main item that the story revolves around is of course the Mask of Sheikah. This mask is related to the royal family of Hyrule and can break curses that are haunting the souls in their rest. Which brings me to one of the collectables in the game. And it's called "Souls from the Lost Ones." This is actually similar to the Poe collection quest in Twilight Princess, but to "capture" the souls you need to break a curse that are providing them to rest. So, you need to use The Mask of Sheikah to break it and then use your sword to kill the Evil Spirit and then you use a ordinary bottle to catch the soul. When you have captured a soul you need to bring it to the Soul Master that lives in Kakariko Graveyard.

No screens at the moment but there will come some as the project moves along.

I'll be updating this project when I have content to show. So, don't ask about the progress of this project.

Coding / GM Background/Tile change
« on: January 25, 2010, 01:31:55 pm »
I need some help in Game Maker when it comes to background and tiles. There is a certain commando in GM where at a certain moment turn the existing tiles in a room to other or the same in a diffrent color. How do I need to code it so the tiles will change in one easy button push?

Audio / [Request] Two Sound Effects
« on: January 24, 2010, 12:35:36 pm »
The two sound effects I'm looking for is:

1#: Bird "Singing" at the day.
2#: Crows "Shout" at the night.

I don't know if these two sounds are from Ocarina of Time. They are from a Zelda game.

I hope someone knows what I'm talking about.  XD
