Are a bunch of spineless, childish, scrummy, useless !@#$%. Anyone been watching the news? Riot Police are severely outnumbered, they were called in because there was going to be huge riots. And yet people are bitching an moaning because police officers lashed back. WTF. Thats like court marshelling a soldier, because he shot an enemy combatant. Its like Banning an F1 driver from racing because he was driving a car. ITS A !@#$% RIOT, Not a primary school brush up. Theres going to be violence.

You've got people saying how the police were using their shields and batons. THERE OUTNUMBERED 100 TO !@#$% 1. You've got protesters throwing pieces of barricades at them, using !@#$% great big steel poles to beat them with, throwing sandbags at them, broken glass, anything that could easily kill someone, they were using against the police...

If it was a peaceful protest then yeah, okay I could understand the concearn. But that part of london on the videos was a !@#$% warzone, Musa Quala was more tame during the invasion, then !@#$% London was during the protest.

Why is it, when we have something put into place for our protection, like the police force, like the army, we abuse the !@#$% out of it? This country is full of spoilt fuckers, its shameful.

Hey, ZFGC.  Put on some melancholy music, listen to the gentle rainfall outside, or whatever gets you in the mood, and think about what's bringing you down in life these days.

Me, I'm sad because I'll need 110% on my final to pass English.  In other words, it's not gonna happen.  Sure, I could blame my professor's droning voice, but I should've just tried harder.  And I suppose it's somewhat comforting to know that I could have passed it with the right effort... you know?

So why are you sad, ZFGC?  Let it out.

So a couple hours ago, I got word from my friend that her boyfriend would be leaving for the army in a month's time, and that also another one of her best friends would be moving to Canberra for a job. She basically got both of these reports herself within a couple hours of other, and she had been crying all day. She started talking to me about it, and then she mentioned that to top it all off, she had an assignment due tomorrow, which she hadn't started. I'd been telling her to sort of start the assignment for a couple days now, but she hadn't. So, realising that I'd just completed all my own schoolwork, I did the assignment for her. It wasn't hard, it was just a quick English speech. Took a couple hours, but she was thankful.

Obviously she should have done it herself earlier, but I felt that was the right thing to do. We all go through a rough time every now and then, and it's not fair that we have to do tests and assignments when we're not feeling our best, so, I had empathy for her.

Have you ever done something like this?

How Bad was Dragonball Evolution?

The movie seemed to go by pretty fast, There didn't seem to be much actual fighting until like the last 10 minutes (insert dragonball z joke here).  It was ok, It really looks like the dude who plays goku forgot his lines during the part where he explains gohan's death to roshi though.

So, does anyone remember that map I keep posting that's unfinished? Haha well this is part of it. In my version of Gerudo Desert, the Gerudos have taken to the seas sort of like in Majoras Mask and are merchants [not the nice kind] that sell jewels they discovered in the caves of their old home. So, they built a grander abode and live there now using the caves only for mining. Aaaand the Gerudo's noticed a tribe of Tokay wondering through the desert and took them hostage. They work as their slaves now mining and digging up those ships they found to expand the Gerudo's methods of travel. What do you guys think? I like how it looks, I guess. I feel like as a whole, it's doesn't gel so well in terms of color, but I figure you won't see it all together like this while you're playing the game [that isn't actually in production. hah.] Are the tents okay? I'm trying to use only official GB sprites, but I had to make the tents. The ones on the towers are pretty ugly and I'm going to remake them, but what about the ones in the desert? Are they okay? Do they fit? Also, I made a little Ganondorf sprite at the top of the tower. :]

EDITTT: I think I wanna change the sand inside the fortress now that I look at it. :|

The guys over at The Speed Gamers (http://www.thespeedgamers.com) have been going at a 72 hour marathon, completing every Zelda game!

The Speed Gamers do gaming marathons to raise money for various charities. In total they have raised OVER $15,000 dollars. The Speed Gamers are based in the DFW area of Texas, but have members from around the world. (source: http://www.thespeedgamers.com/)

Their current charity is to raise money for Ally's house, which is an organization that helps pay for the expenses of children with cancer.
They are also giving out prizes! (more information in the link)

There is chat and Live video, but please be sure to try and reduce their server loads by NOT refreshing the page.

Some current finishing times are:
Oracle of Seasons was completed in 3 hours and 37 minutes.
Majora's Mask was completed in 7 hours and 14 minutes.
Ocarina of Time was completed in 7 and a half hours.
Links Awakening in 2 hours 8 minutes!

Discussion / I'm sorta torn...

I have not made a Zelda fangame since 2005-ish (lol dawn of the hero lol). I really want to do it again, but I am torn between the choices.

Choices:

- Make with GM (lol)
- Make with Blitzmax (requires me to learn it a bit more)
- Make with C++ (requires me to learn a lot more)
- Make with C# (may not require that much learning since people suggest it a lot and state that it is easy)
- Other

So, I do not know what to use, what do you guys think?

First of all, I do not know how hard this would be to implement.

What I was thinking was that when a user edits his/her post, it should appear under "Unread Replies". This will eliminate a lot of "bump" posts and double posts. It is also new content that the user should be aware of.

I must say, Sony knows what they are doing with advertisements.

Seriously, their adverts are the only ones that appeal to me.

Let's take a look at typical Commercials from each company:

Sony: Something that gets you fired up and excited
Microsoft: Basically telling you that everyone is doing it so "Jump in."
Nintendo: You know, someday, a old Japanese guy will come knocking on your door to play with you. No but seriously, their main focus is basically "Let everyone play!"

Now, I am not a Sony fanboy, in fact I despise Sony. I go more in depth:

Sony's new PSP Commercials (the ones about "NYC DOES IT" and "The Whole world in your hands") actually make me WANT to get one. Seriously, they display the usability and add a nice visual to it. The recent ones like "NYC DOES IT" are leaning towards Microsoft though, which is bad.

Now I remember when the PS3 was coming out, and Sony had their commercials with a black and white PS3 in the center with abstract art (you know what I am talking about right? I can't it explain it much ;P), the music they had just made me feel tingly and made me want to play it, really bad. To top it off, they really rose your hype when they displayed fun games such.

Can anyone agree with me in regards to the fact that these commercials actually got you to think?

Now its Microsoft's turn:

Now, all the commercials for XBOX360 have the same motive "Everyone's doing it". A recent commercial I saw was the one with a bunch of Asian kids, which in the end, end up playing in a puddle with each other with the text "Jump in." on the screen. Seriously? The oldest method of advertising, and it isn't doing them any good. I can't relate to a bunch of people playing in a puddle, nor can I relate to 100's of people playing video games with me. Sorry Microsoft, I am not "Jumping in." get something more original, and something that appeals to regular gamers.

Nintendo:

I have to say, I think Nintendo completely failed in their advertising. First of all, we all know those "We would like to play" commercials. These commercials start out with two Japanese men who go door to door and ask household to "play" with them. It ends with a bunch of people having fun on a Wii. Now I can relate to the fact me and some of my friends can play together and have fun, but I just don't get any appeal from them. When they play Wii, all they showcase is "Oh my God, you can play with your friends" which is stupid because you can do that with every console. Nothing else. They BARELY showcase any games for it, probably because they all suck...


tl;dr Sony has the best ad campaign.
