Title: Animal Crossing: City Folk's music
Post by: Kyubi on July 22, 2008, 09:04:46 pm
If you remember, Animal Crossing had different music assigned to each hour of the day, which gave it an air of routine, and really conveyed the feeling of that time of day quite well. Wild World had about six songs that randomly changed every hour, which didn't do any good for the ambience of the town.

So, does anyone know if City Folk will have the same musical system as Animal Crossing did? I want the clock to hit 2 in the morning or 4 in the afternoon and know some sweet catchy music's gonna start playing. It better not be randomised! Thoughts on this?

I think that would work well. When I first opened this I thought you were talking about Totakeke, and was thinking, "I think the same songs will be in." I hope so at least. And they better bring back the passwords for Tom Nook!

I thought of an idea a while ago where you could carry around a radio with different stations like:
-The regular animal crossing music
-K.K.Slider music
-classic nintendo music
-news thats displayed at the bottom of the screen
-music that you have on the SD card

But I agree, the different songs for each hour are cool. I hope that returns too.

Pretty much all my hype for this game is based on that awesome music. Animal Crossing and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door were the last games I played that made me feel genuinely happy inside, and were an absolute joy to play.

I love both of those games. Good, solid games.

City Folk looks okay right now. I feel they're not doing enough to make it different, probably because they feel they don't need to because their target audience hasn't even played Animal Crossing before. I do agree with what you're saying about music though, it's always really nice to have that change.

although its not going to happen, id most like to see the island return.
And Capn's songs, which were/are awesome. I prefer the music from AC to WW, the start screen music is better.
