Sadly, that is not the case. FC's are already established as Nintendo's connectivity system, like it or not.

That's exactly what I was going to write as I skimmed the thread. You get +10 Kick-butt points.

Sadly, that is not the case. FC's are already established as Nintendo's connectivity system, like it or not.

Go and try playing Mario Kart DS or Metroid Prime Hunters. You can just log on and beat someone (or get beaten, as is my case in Metroid). :/

Er... If you want to play against a faceless, silent person.  If you want to do that, why not go play singleplayer?  To play with somebody you know, you HAVE to use friend codes.

FC's are annoying but i've gotten used to the fact that they won't be dropped anytime soon.

Well, look at how the AI moves. A simple programming flaw or overlook could lead to an easy advantage (or disadvantage) to the player. The faceless, silent person at least moves with their own mind and according to the same rules as you.

Playing against anoter person, faceless/silent or no, is always different from playing a cpu. And surely to play with someone you know, you shouldn't have to use friend codes? Because there wouldnt be the need for added security.

STFU, GTFO, NAO. Jump Ultimate Stars is a great game, with awesome characters and a completely unique system!

Maybe, Jump Ultimate Stars is mainly based on manga characters with something like Digimon Battle Spirit's gameplay.
If you don't like Manga, or the characters themself, or simply the way of battling, JUS isn't for you.
At least, I liked it, but already got bored of it. :P

I like some manga, but only the more mainstream stuff, I'd never claim to be a hardcore manga fan.

I liked JUS. :(

Maybe someone could make a graphics (and pallet) heck based off JUS for Smash Bros. XD (I tried hecking Pokémon Diamond's graphics to change the character to the FireRed one, but I could not find the graphics at all.)

You didn't mention jumping. I guess X, Y, and D-Pad Up could be used for that like the other Smash Bros. games.

Ahh yes. Well like you said, up or X or Y would do that quite easily.
Maybe L + down could be drop item? (id forgotten that too)

I'm gunna try to improve the controls through thought so I know what would feel comfortable for me.

D-Pad: Move/Jump (Up)/Crouch (Down)
B Button: Standard Attacks
X Button: Special Attacks
A Button: Jump/Pick&Throw (Items)
Y Button: Taunt
R/L Button: Grab/Shield/Air Dodge (In Air)

That's what I'd go with control wise. If you remember in the original, when you wanted to use the shield, it would do a grab animation and then activate the shield.

Drop/throw uses the "Grab" button combination.

Uh, no. If you pressed the grapple button, it does whatever Shield + A does in the same circumstance - which, normally, is to grapple, and then shield. THAT'S why the shield works if you do a grapple command.
