Help with a Recolour

Okay, I know recolouring isn't the hardest of things, but I'm having some trouble with this.
I'm trying to recolour minish cap Link to look like Dark Link. My problem is, he seems more monochrome than dark. Another problem is that I want the tunic, hair and face to be clearly distinguishable, but also to still seem dark.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think it looks fine the way it is, honestly. The Piks version is not much different besides the hair.
