This is a project for a 3D Zelda fan game. The theme of it is exploring new areas and solving puzzles by traveling to multiple different realms.

Im committing to keep this project alive for as long as it takes to finish it. Or at least maybe a demo or two. Whether that would be years from now.

The Beta Names were: "Shadow World" and " Blade of Power"

I'm going to hold back on the updates until i get enough helpers and supporters

The Legend of Zelda Elemental Portals

The main story is pretty much kept the same but certain chunks of it is being altered repeatedly. I'm not gonna say anything about the story anymore until the game is in development.

 Switched from Wind Waker to Twilight Princess style.

Do you have any additional mockups or in-game screenshots, and out of curiosity what software/tool are you using to make this game?

You have a team to work with you in this project? If so best to plan everything out, then do the coding and all that other good stuff.
Your project and idea reminds me of the other 3D project that was posted previously,  the missing piece  :huh:, can’t remember the name right now.

Another thing to know is what will Link be doing in order to progress in the story, such as collecting this to create that and or enter here, for example in OOT where you need all the medallions in order to get inside Ganon’s Castle, etc. Also the purpose of key items(Boss remains in MM = 4 giants = going to the moon/end game)? But like I said, make sure to plan it out first before creating.

I remember when I first had my first beer. jajajaja just kidding. I kind of do, but it was 3 shots of 151 when I was in the 7th grade... and I was !@#$% shitfaced. Anyways.


This reminds me of when I was first getting into GameMaker(haha, that's what the gm means in my name!) and I wanted to do a 3D game. So, I followed Marks Overmars's tutorial on making a 3D first person shooter... I did go a little beyond the scope of the tutorial by adding my own enemies, but that was it. I couldn't do anything more with the project because I lacked the technical know-how to accomplish such a daunting feat. Also, mere experience is a huge plus too.. because you would be more wise.

Some of your choices seem rather far-fetched. I hate to be the guy who ruins your fun but I honestly feel like there's something a bit odd about you.

You should first develop a story more, then work on the gameplay design. Then you start doing the interesting stuff such as coding. But honestly, you should start with a smaller project. This is seriously a huge task for one person. Try maybe, something 2D? 3D isn't all that great anyways. Its easier to produce higher quality stuff in 2D than it is 3D. Which the quality is what matters anyways.

Alright now that I'm less focussed on being an ass, I completely agree with gm112 here. I think you should probably sit down and get your design together. Think about what you really, really want to see in the game, and what you might not have time for. Flesh out a really simple demo of a sprite walking around so that way you kind of have an idea of what the tech would be like. Do simple things first, and then when you're done with the simple, start thinking of things that are slightly more grandiose.

My friend, working alone is not easy, I am doing a project alone I got pretty far and learned a lot of coding as I went(I always asked questions, therefore learn from it and from my mistakes), and there are others doing the same Martjn dh for example and look how far he’s gotten.
Before doing anything you need planning, concepts, etc.
Then comes the coding and gameplay/screens.

Working alone is not easy WL12.


EDIT:

But if you do need a story I can provide you with one of my old concepts that are pretty damn interesting.
For example, Ganon takes over and rules Hyrule for 20 yrs., The hero is killed by Ganon’s men in front of his sons, and his families/friends eyes and the Hero’s sons take off with a friend to avenge their father. In order to progress, the player must reunite all races of Hyrule and destroy 4 fortresses with Hyrule, doing so will cause Ganon’s barriers to fall from Hyrule Town and prompt the sons of the hero to advance, along with their recruits, the reunited races of Hyrule.

I am not working alone i have a team. Hylia's Workshop was our "company" name.

Don't be surprised but i am 13. I and i admit i am a little optimistical. XD

we had to plan every detail.

Ah!!! That clears up the overworld confusion. Good sir, I think you mean regions. An overworld is something that contains several regions and is pretty much the entire map. Having 6 overworlds is pretty ridonculous unless you have some serious intergallactic action going on.

Don't worry about optimism and enthusiasm. It's really good to have that young. A lot of people lose that at my age. Hold on to it, but keep your feet on the ground there, little man (or woman, you never know when another female might actually join).

I hope it indead is regions, for a zelda fan game with several elemental bound worlds using portals to travel between has already been in production for years. Though it would be interesting to see how different 2 games with a partial same concept but different in every other aspect would be.

But as the others have already said before, we would like to see some more of this and not only the idea.

the over-worlds look the same but its resources are bound by the element that gives its name. Also each world has a primary tribe. I guess i could give them away..(Some are obvious) Forest-Human Fire-Goron Water-Zora Desert-Rito Wind-Koroks. Dark-No life forms (In the legend it said that this realm was never used until someone found it)

Could you please verify what you mean by "worlds"? What's the purpose in having multiple overworlds? It looks like what you're talkinga bout are different regions of the same world.

Also Human.. don't you mean Hylian? ;p

So what happened to Hyrule? Did the goddesses shatter the world due to the races battling against each other? The title and the story feels a bit generic. It's not a bad thing though. But I always believe the story of a game helps make it stand out. I'm assuming there will be either a hub area, where all the portals connect (maybe like a central dungeon?) or this game might have a Mario game layout where you beat the worlds in a certain order. It'd be cool for Link to travel to the fire world just to collect a key or something so he can progress more through the forest world. Helps and improves gameplay and linearity.

Well, that's enough from me, I look forward to seeing this in action. =)

So...what about the game itself? And how in the world are you going to make it a Wii U, Gamecube (Seriously?) AND PC game? You need to lower your expectations...a lot. At least before you actually start making the game...
