I just started thinking of this now, working on LACOOP and all and just looking at all the races.

I mean, there's no mention of their race. Some could assume they are of Hylian Decent, but, there is never mention of Hyrule or the Gods, etc. This is probably because Link's Awakening is a dream according to some rumors.

I've just always wondered because a lot of them are similar looking characters to ones from other games :P

Well the thing about LA is that is makes you wonder what was a dream and what was real. I'd say they were of Hylian descent.

It was never confirmed to be a dream.

Some think it was a dream of Link's. Others think it was the Wind Fish's Dream (Thus when Link woke up him, the Island disappeared).

Either way, dream or not, they do have a race.

I would assume Hylian. If it isn't specified, they are usually Hylian in the world of Zelda. But again, it was a dream, so they didn't even exist.

But again, it was never confirmed. One can only assume it was a dream.

If they were Hylian, you'd think there would at least be hints or something to them being Hylian. Nothing of Hyrule wasn't mentioned at all in Link's Awakening as far as I know.

What are you talking about? This isn't some novel, it was a gameboy game. It was pretty clear that either Link was dreaming, or the Wind Fish was dreaming. Why would the island disappear if it was real? Why would all those statues point to it being a dream if it was real?

AGAIN... yes, you can assume it was a dream with the island disappearing and all, but you honestly cannot say 100% it was a dream no matter how sure you are.

I'm 100% sure it's a dream.
What's there to be confused about?

Holy jesus. I'm not confused about anything. The topic wasn't even about it being a dream in the first place. I was just pondering the race of the people living on the island.

I may have sidetracked it a bit. If so, sorry about that. But I'd say Hylian descent, or if you want ot go the native route, Koholinti.

What's there to be confused about?

The fact that after you beat the game you see the Windfish (after you 'wake up') fly over head.

Then it was probably the Wind Fish's dream. He was real. He just dreamed the event.
