I played around with the tiles a little.

I just played with the outline on Sharon's tiles to make them look more "thick" to fit the style of Mario, which is what I did with the Ground and "?" Block.

Also here's a little Mockup. I think it fits much better with Mario now.

They look a little weird to me, the clouds especially.. Well, the hills are good. But if you look at Mario, he doesn't really have thick outlines anywhere. Just the fact that his hat brim and overalls are black lend to that illusion.. I just feel like having thick outlines on everything makes the scene much more "busy"

The hills look better, but the rest of it is fine the way it is. I'm changing the Item Block to have a smoother questionmark in it, like Super Mario Land 2.

sorry to say but your second tile ruins everything :-X

or at least make a more unique look that doesn't look anything like the grass

Looks more like sand to me. But yeah I agree I should do something different for dirt. Hmm... Maybe instead of dirt I could do stone ground like the older Mario games.

Doesn't fit the pallet exactly. But I tried it with the real pallet colors and it looked worse. Maybe I'll add one more color to the green later.
