I just downloaded a MM ROM, and when I tried to play it, it displayed the thing on the title screen that says I need a contoller, do I really need one?

i thought it was against the rules to talk about this?  if it's not, well.  maybe you should download the rom from a different site. it will most likely have a different one(same game, but someone else made the rom) or maybe your emulator isn't up to snuff.  use pj64 for Oot and MM, i got the best results from it.

The rules say that you cannot distrubute any ROMs.  This also means that you should not say where you found them.  So far no rules are broken, and I hope it stays that way.

I think you'll need to use a different emulator.
I think PJ64, which Project64 i believe, is the best one.
And you definitely don't need a controller for the roms, although keyboard can be a pain sometimes.

Get PJ64 and fool around with the configs, if you can't get it to work, get another ROM, if you can't get it to work, get a N64 and MM, if you can't get it to work, get a techie, if you can't get him to work, get a whip, etc...

That actually sounds interesting Mitsuu... anyway, a forum dedicated to emulators and plug-ins ect. is www.emutalk.net and for your problem go to the configurations for the controller plug-in and make sure it is set to active/plugged in. If that doesn't work, yes go get another rom.

--This post does not break the rule about illegal material, no roms are distributed on emutalk.net

Did you check to see if you had the controller configured to the keyboard? Maybe the emulator you're using starts out with no controls...so you can set them before you load any games. Kinda weird...but maybe. I used PJ64 for my MM rom and it worked fine. I was also using a PC controller though.

And impossible when you think about it. The Wiimote is full 3D sensing. A mouse is only about as good as a stylus. flat surface movement, plus clicks.

Yeah, but some people have managed to use an ordinary bluetooth thing to receive what the wiimote is doing, so, you could use the actual wiimote with it.
