I was just wondering, I've been really interested in beginning a 3d project and I would like to know what are some good 3d dev programs that I could use and pick up easily. I've been testing out Torque but it's more of a FPS designer than anything and I'm really looking to make an action/adventure game.

so if anyone could, could you please post me some good dev programs for 3d games?? please and thanks ;D

Torque Game Engine's hardly an FPS designer; it's been used for a lot of other programs, and the only reason you think it's based around FPS design is because, for the most part, that's all you've seen. Look at the racing demo; that's hardly the same as an FPS. There are a lot of systems common to FPS games that stand out that are in other genres, but you dont see as much.

But if you still want something else (though I recommend looking deeper into Torque), I'd recommend trying 3DGS or DarkBASIC Professional.

There's such a double standard about religion in the modern world. Catholics can gather, wear white robes, and say "In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti" and be considered normal.

But if my friends and I gather, wear black robes, and say  "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", we're considered cultists.

DarkBASIC Professional.
Oh dear god no, for the love of god no!!!! *vomits*

Try Blitz3D, its amazingly simple and shoudn't take more than a hundred lines of code or so to set up a simple FPS.

Hey, it's SOMETHING to start out with, and since I never tried Blitz3D, I couldn't suggest that, and I couldn't think of anything else to help a complete newcomer <_<

ROFL, yeh I remember that piece of software, I can't believe I spent money on it ^^. Mind you it was one of the first pieces of software I ever bought for game development, so I guess I can be let off.
