Beat MGS4 last night

I just beat Metal Gear Solid 4 last night. It took me 19 game hours, and I got the rank of "Eagle" (which apparently means that I'm an experienced weapon handler who racked up my headshots).

Just wanted to say that it was epically awesome, and anyone who likes Metal Gear games needs to get this game (probably a bit late in mentioning that, as anyone who likes Metal Gear games probably beat this game back in June when it was released).

Yes, MGS4 is awesome.

To me, the first one was the best, it left a huge lasting impression on me. And I still remember the demo video thing on the PSone disc *drools*

I love Metal Gear Solid 1 as well. It's really hard to decide which game is the best..

(Metal Gear Solid 2 is easily the worst, but even that game is awesome)

Agreed 100%. MGS3 is one of my favorite games of all time, but MGS4 was everything I wanted it to be and more. The story was compelling and resolved everything, the gameplay was as good as ever, the boss fights were excellent (especially the first one and the

), the balance of cutscenes and gameplay was just what I was looking for (which makes the game almost as fun to watch as it is to play), and the production values were the best I've ever seen in a video game. This is a game that really is great to watch as well as play, so my friends had no qualms with spending an entire week watching me play MGS4.

I've played MGS:TS, MGS2 and MGS3. MGS2 in my eyes was an absolute disaster of a game. The plot failed to interest me and at the time I found the controls to be retarded. I agree that MGS3 was undoubtedly the best. The plot was great, the cinematic feel and the tactical gameplay made it fun. Definitely one of my favourite games ever. MGS:TS was also good.

None of my friends understand my love for MGS. They're all Splinter Cell nubs.

-Apple product placement throughout the game (iPods, MacBooks, Mac Pros, Apple Cinema Display Monitors, etc)
-What fit on one BluRay Disc would take 6 DVDs
-Lots of nostalgic flashbacks and allusions to MGS1 including many that refer to things you had to do on a PS1 (change the disk, insert memory cards)

It's kind of funny, everybody who plays MGS4 seems to hate it for the first five hours then love it. I'm still concerned some kind of tube is coming out of their PS3's and sucking them up, before replacing them with a robot.

It's that concern which stops me getting a PS3 (that and teh moneyz..and teh time...and...yeah, I'm just not getting one XD).
