He's missing his head for now, and is all subject to change and detailing, but what do you think?

Very nice. Though it gives the appearence of being made out of primitives, kind of a "blocky" feel, especially the torso. Though I suppose it depends on what stylistic setting its meant to be used in.

Well, his right foot started out as a cube, but it's been completely extrusion-based from that point. I'm trying to eliminate the blocky look of the torso right now. It's intended to be realistic

Looks very nice, way better than anything that I could do. I'm still in the phase of simply making small manipulations to just plain objects lol

Hm... I should probably put something here...

:P Thanks guys. I'd never really done anything that I considered realistic before this, but I think that this guy is definitely getting there.

He's been granted a head. :o But it's the most boring and featureless head ever. Gonna have to work on that.

EDIT: Decapitated this poor guy, now I'm working on a better head.

you know, you could turn on some subsurfacing if you wanted it to look nicer. Just don't actually apply the setting.

It really looks nice, but it looks a bit weird around the elbows and knees. But it could also be me.

Actually Luke, Subsurfing is already on. He's fairly lower poly than what you see, a state in which he will remain until I'm done with the model (then I'll actually apply the subsurf so I can add detail). And in a real game presentation he'll be smoothed of course.

Niek, you might be right. I'll poke around there and see what I can do.

Nice work. Just out of curiosity, what program are you using?

That's right. I do use Blender.

Here's a picture of my guy from last night. Since taking this shot I've added ears and colored his lips.

Here's a simple orbiting web player so you can see my Human model from some different angles. Also, since the last screen-cap I took I've added ears, replaced his blobhands with realistic ones, and changed around his mouth/nose area a bit. What do you think?

To me the front looks like it could be his back, and he somehow managed to turn his head around 180 degrees.

I'd say he looks rather flat in general, somewhat reminiscent of Gumby for me.
