There has been a change in the messages users will receive when they are warned or banned.

When being warned, you will receive this message-

Quote
*Quote from rule breaking post*

“You have been warned for your post in “ *thread link* ”, breaking rules “ *listed rule #s here* “. Further warnings could result in a temporary suspension of your posting ability, or a ban from the forum. If you disagree with your warning, please contact an administrator. Thank you.” *-mod name*

Now, along with this change, there have been changes to the banning system. Banner users will no longer be 100% restricted from the forums, only their posting abilities will be taken away for an indefinite amount of time that will be determined depending on the severity of the previous warnings. Should administration feel its necessary to remove log-in rights, we will; however it is not the standard anymore. Instead, users will now receive this message when banned in their message box-

Quote
“You have been banned for:” *reason* “. This ban will expire in” *days* “days.  If you would like to discuss, or appeal this ban, please contact an administrator via personal message. Thank you. -” *mod name*

Banned users will now be able to PM staff even with their posting ability disabled, allowing them to discuss things over and potentially appeal the ban they've received.

Along with these changes, posts that a user has not been warned for cannot be used against them in a ban, instead, the user must receive a PM warning for the post before it can be applied to the ban. All warnings and bans are documented privately in the staff boards to ensure that a user is not being mistreated when being banned.

These generic messages will remain the same for every warning/ban.

If there is any abuse regarding a warning, or ban that you feel you should report, please PM an administrator immediately.

Thank you,
-Mammy
