ZFGC Sprite Competition 2007 / The Competition Begins!
« on: April 13, 2007, 01:42:46 am »
Okay, I'm speeding up the competition since the spots already filled up quickly.

The theme for each bracket will be Zelda related (this is Zelda Fan Game Central after all :P), but different brackets will have the ability to do a different Non-Zelda Spriting Style for the subject matter.

Bracket 1: Beginner
Your Goal is to make a Sprite Sheet using the spriting styles of Game Boy or NES graphics. It must have an Up-view, Down-View, Left and Right Side views.
The Subject of the Sprite Sheet must be: An original Dungeon Boss that would make sense in a LoZ game.

Bracket 2: Intermediate
Your Goal is to make a Sprite Sheet using the spriting styles of ALTTP or Fire Emblem graphics. It must have an Up-view, Down-view, Left and Right Side views.
The Subject of the Sprite Sheet must be: Any kind of NPC from LoZ: Wind Waker or Ocarina of Time. The 4 views must be of the same one NPC.

Bracket 3: Advanced
Your Goal is to make a Sprite Sheet using the spriting styles of MC/FS/FSA or even Freestyle graphics (The new ZFGC Sprite Style would be cool in this area). It must have an Up-view, Down-view, Left and Right Side views.
The Subject of the Sprite Sheet must be: Any kind of NPC from LoZ: Twilight Princess. The 4 views must be of the same one NPC.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION. PLEASE READ
You may begin spriting now. You have until April 27th to submit your entry. You MUST submit the entry to me in PM like you did when you signed up for the competition. Once all 24 entries are in, we will begin the next phase of the competition. Two weeks is plenty enough time to make 4 sprites (3 actually since you can make one side view and copy and flip it to make two side-views). Please use the below Sprite Sheet for your entry:

Put the sprites in the middle green box and below it in the bottom area do the description like:

YOUR SPRITE'S NAME
           by
    YOUR NAME

Okay, start spriting and have some fun!

Link's Quest / Episode 100
« on: March 23, 2007, 11:57:53 pm »

Well folks, I made it. 100 episodes of Links Quest. Amazing isn't it? I can't believe I made it this far. After 4 host-switches and 4 years, I hit the 100 episode mark. Considering Link and co. just made it to the 3rd area out of 6 (Remember, 6 Mystical Spheres :P), there are many many episodes to go for Link's Quest, so it's not going away anytime soon. Thanks to all my fans over the years for helping me have a reason to keep on going with my web-comic. Also much thanks to Dayjo Aspen, Inc. for hosting my new site. Enjoy the episode and I'll see ya next week!

Entertainment / The Wind Waker Question
« on: March 15, 2007, 04:11:30 am »
Okay, this may sound like the stupidest question ever, but I need to know which way it is for Link's Quest and my other projects.

Is the correct term for TWW Link

Hero of Wind
or
Hero of Winds?

Link's Quest / Past Episodes
« on: March 14, 2007, 05:03:24 pm »
The Episodes 89-96 Threads here on this forum have now been updated with the url to the new server's images. I'm still working on Link's Side Quest and Funnies (switching them over), so it'll be a while on those 2 posted. However, I encourage you to see the new site, if you can. Madilim and I worked hard on it.

Link's Quest / The New Website
« on: March 06, 2007, 01:03:15 am »
Sorry its taking a while to get the new site up and running. As you know, I've been busy with work this past week. I've got Inventory this week and I MIGHT be promoted to Store Manager (dont worry, that wont make things worse, it'll make it better because I'll schedule my hours to have me work mornings and have evenings off to work on my projects :D).

Madilim Kagalakan is now the Technical Webmaster of my site. Together, we'll be creating the coolest version of Link's Quest: The Web-Comic Website yet. I'm HOPING we get the website all up and running by this Friday when Episode 98 goes up.

Also, the winners of my Sprite Competition, I'll try to have your banners finished by Friday as well.

EDIT: Screw the Rules! I have money! Er um, screw it, here's the url: http://linksquest.dayjo.org/ Only the first chapter is up at the time of this post, but I hope to have all the episodes up by Friday.

« on: March 01, 2007, 05:21:53 pm »
Rules are simple. Just vote for the Sprite Sheet you like better. Voting ends at Midnight Central Time.

Sir Cyrus's Revamped Boss Sprite

BlueMonkey's Horned Centipede Monster

Description: A brown centipede with horns. It tackles its prey to hunt it down, then eats it with it's sharp teeth. It's weak point is the back of it's head, because that's the only soft spot on the whole worm. The longer it is, the healthier it is. They are close to extinction, and live in damp places. If you see one, you better have a weapon close by
