Debates / Why do we fear death?

The circumstance of getting the idea of this topic is rather odd, really. I watched FullMetalAlchemist, and Edward was about to be slaughtered, and tells Al that he thought he would die. That he was really scared.

Then I thought of why people are scared to die. I imagined myself standing near the edge of a cliff, and I know I'd be scared to fall down and die instantly. The only thing to fear though is the pain you will suffer before you die, and that's all.
Naturally all fears you have are based on instincts from our ancestors (I mean really long time ago). Why would they have feared death?

Last note: Actually death is a release, if you think about it. So why would people fear it?

Okay. So we have that TV-Show on TV called "Kuttner" on MTV (at first at Viva - st. familar to MTV, and it was called "Sarah-Kuttner-Show"), starring Sarah Kuttner. Myself, I like her very much as a German show-host. She's cool, smart and cute. She has guests like some German stars, but also international famous people (Gwen Stefani, to just name one) and everything. I decided to upload a short clip with her and some other guy called "Oliver Pocher". He's cool too...
On the left is Pocher, on the right is Kuttner (if it isn't obvious already...)

The new Zelda - Twilight Princess is called "Tasogare no Himegimi".
Tasogare=Twilight, dusk. Alright.

It's about enemy-movement. We have an Arachnoid, that is supposed to move in one of ten cases. That works alright.
What's not working is the movement. I want him to move in any diagonal direction, and if he collides with any object, he must return in the other diagonal direction.

It's so simple, and still I don't know the best code to do... >_<

So for all of you who don't check out VGCats regularly, I'd like to present a sprite-movie (of about 11 minutes) by one of the possibly most awesomest pixel-artists of this universe.

You see, some weeks ago I was on ZFGC-chat. And it was rather slow and boring and stuff. And then somebody did this.

I thought about that happening the whole day today. And I find it funny, imagining the way it would have sound if one said that. So I was up to say it some time,  but that would have been lame. It actually isn't funny and people would have went "FTW is wrong with you, !@#$%."

Sorry, really. But this is somehow cool to read, and I have to do it.

A proper way to get your Ketchup out of the bottle. A guide by Fox???

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I noticed many people on the forum having serious problems with getting their delightful and exciting ketchup of their choice of the bottle. I decided to take the time and explain a proper way to get what you want. Especially since that hoax about smashing your bottle is making its round. That is simply not true. Okay, I allowed myself to make a small graphic to explain better. I've chosen Heinz??? Tomato-Ketchup, but it should work with any preferably ketchup too (including that weird green ketchup, but I can't guarantee it). Let's begin, shall we.






This picture shows two used ways. The first one is the primary used. It shows how the ketchup-bottle is smacked on it's bottom in the pathetic hope to throw out the ketchup in some kind. Most likely you won't get the result you were looking for due to the air inside the bottle and some ohter aspects that will be explained down below. Thus way one is

WRONG.

Now that we moved that possibility out of the way, one is remaining. What we do now is - rather than using rough violence - shaking the bottle to make the ketchup make its way in the bottle on all areas. Not alone that the possibility of the ketchup getting closer to the exit gets up, but the ketchup is now everywhere in the bottle and may flow better now. (You can see that on rainy days on glass -  the drops that move down, move faster when they get in contact with other drops that don't move). It's now really easy to get the ketchup out of the bottle. So way two is

CORRECT.

NOTE: If you're used to the first way which takes its time to work (if it works, that is) you may be surprised   of how fast the ketchup flows. Therefore prepare for the liquid tomato to come out very soon.

Well, yeah, so I saw news today and it was about the Queen celebrating her birthday. She walked along the crowd, who was euphoric and stuff. Some guy stated that he stood near the queen and yelled: "Hey, today it's my birthday too!" and the Queen apparently said: - you guessed it - "Oh, really?".

Well. Enough stuff for a YTMND in my opinion.

Coding / [Request / Listing] Is this possible in GML?

I was wondering if this is possible.
I want the player to be able to enter any possible code that GML knows while the game is running. Perhaps like you press enter, it asks you for a code (input) and you write for example "instance_create(15,15,objLink)" and then the game (or rather the certain object that calls the code) would create an instance objLink at x-position 15, y-position 15. You get the idea? Is that possible?

I use GM 5.3a .

Okay, so here's the deal. It's about room-transition. It's not like I got any problem! You see,
I got objects that, when Link collides with them, bring them to an other dedicated room. No problems with getting stuck in that object, since I indicated some variables and x- and y-positions. Everything's alright.
However,
that means, that you always end up at that door of the room, that you started in. So if I'd got a room with more than one exit, I'd have a big problem.
Also - and this is why I post here, since there would be a complicated, annoying way to fix the other problem - there is the problem with temples. I've decided to make every room in a temple seperated, so you'd always have a different room. But the problem is the end of each temple. You know, when you defeated the boss, retreived the heart-container and finally the super-duper-whatsoever-thingy of the temple, you'll get automatically beamed outside in front of the temple. Alright so far, no problem. But if you'd enter the temple again, you'd always start at the door of a room that you used to left. Since you didn't go back yourself outside the dungeon, it would always be the wrong exit. Can you imagine that?

So well, now I need help or a tip what to do.
