Entertainment / [NOW WITH MOAR SPOILERS] Super Mario Galaxy - Help fox plox
« on: December 12, 2007, 11:20:48 pm »
Actually, there's two missions of that kind, but I just can't figure them out.
I'm talking about the mission where you have to use Bob-Ombs in a given 30 seconds (which is a !@#$% joke) to remove all the unburnable trash.

I really can't figure out how to make it in time. I always fail.

Any tips?

I don't want to know if you've already seen that.

Pretty !@#$% awesome IMO.

In comparison, here's the original intro (OP) of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

Entertainment / Not even done with Phantom Hourglass yet.
« on: November 09, 2007, 11:43:11 pm »
So don't f ucking spoil the end for me.

Yes, I take my time. Sue me.

I just need to share things. The game is a lot of fun, but it sucks so much in so many ways. I hate to complain, but this is just a disappointment.

The controlling can be a real pain in the old bottom. An enemy is approaching you, you need to tap the items-flag, choose the item, the game does NOT pause, tap on the item-button, aim and you better hope your enemy hasn't hit you 83 times already. Not to mention that my toilet-cover-hands are sometimes making it impossible to see what's going on on the bottom right.

The music. Oh god, don't even get me started. The only good music was the intro and the travelling-music. And those are growing old and annoying, too. They used the same music for more than 7 dungeons? The same !@#$% music that is only a loop of like, 30 seconds? And they did that frequently. Guess Kondo was busy with bigger games when the game was made.

The graphics. I like them lots, actually. Looks like they do everything that the DS can do. I remember .TakaM complaining about it though, before the game was even released. Remember him saying the developers work inefficiently. Very inefficiently. And actually, as I was fighting a boss today, the game lagged. The game fricking LAGGED.

The plot, well yeah, they had to cut out a lot, because pretty much ALL good things have been taken care of in WW already. Ganon or the Master-Sword reappearing would have made no sense. But... meh. I think it could have been better, really. Nothing really impressive happens. The cut-scenes are kinda cool though, and I grew a fan of Linebeck. He is a piece of sex.

And finally, the temple of... well, that temple where you run on time. I really really damned hate that. It's frustrating. So much. So very much. I can't even put it in words.

Just had to get that of my chest. The biggest disappointment IMO was the lack of good music though. Really, that made it horrible.

I still would sell my soul for Nintendo though. Don't worry.

By the way, don't you guys come and tell me "all you people can do is complain complain complain about everything that's wrong with games. Give the developers a rest!!"

I know, I hate complaining too. I still am happy with Phantom Hourglass. Great game. But you can practically SMELL it could have been better, way better.

Entertainment / GTA Berlin
« on: October 30, 2007, 03:02:52 pm »
You know you want it.

Yesterday night, EST, the mod for GTA Berlin has been released to public. I played it, and although not even everything they do have available was implanted in the demo, it's still very worth to try it.

http://gtaberlin.de/en/news.html

Still quite a few bugs, and it's annoying to accidently fall down on places they have yet to put in, but for me, this is superb to play. I can assure you that it feels a lot like Berlin and they had some witty ideas for some stuff, too. Try it, installing is only a matter of 5 minutes - especially if you have a BIT of knowledge with modding.

Personally, I'm looking forward to a more completed Subway (U-Bahn) and Train (S-Bahn)-grid, including actual trains that you can enter and look around in. I mean, come on. That thing in GTA SA was a JOKE.

Taking on whole Berlin sure is a task though. I dare say Berlin is geographically bigger than San Andreas. By far. And all the detail, all the little by-roads and stuff - that is going to be one pain in the old bottom. But I'm positive they can achieve at least a LOT.

(Probably should have been to that party they had for releasing the game lol)

Other Discussion / Navigator: Updated to 9.0 RC1, wtf is that bar?
« on: October 13, 2007, 10:43:25 am »
Got no idea as to why I was offered an update to an RC-version, but whatever. It happened. Now I have this bar on the bottom of my Navigator-window and I don't know what it is or how to get rid of it.

in b4 "ZOMG LOL USE FEYURFAWKS U STPD IDEOT". I would love to use that, but Firefox lacks on my PC, dunno why. That's why I use Navigator, it's pretty much like FF.

A sucky internship, won't get into details.

Basically, I need to make a website, and the customer wants this kind of menu. You click on a word in the menu-bar and then a sub-menu pops up, as in more links appear underneath the word you just clicked. See here:

If possible, tell me a code for HTML. I guess it's kinda hard, but I really damned need it.

Don't think this is worth to be put under the games-board. I played TP today and was distracted. When I saw that I dropped the ball, I was like OHMANWTFLOL I FAIL. But I get the Well-Done-Message. Look here. (Geschafft = Done, as in, "You made it, Link!")

roflmao. Oh Nintendo. Don't be rushed by whiny fanboys. [/hypocrite]

Other Discussion / WinXP: Arrange files after their date of creation?
« on: August 10, 2007, 06:50:44 pm »
I found myself confused about this. Whenever there's a folder full of music-files, I cannot arrange them in the order they were created, like I can with all other files. Instead I'm given options like "After Album" or "After Interpret".

Is there a way to change that? So that I can arrange the files after their date of creation, even if it are music-files?

Other Discussion / QUICK: Avoid intializing/formatting!?
« on: July 14, 2007, 08:18:24 pm »
I've just tried to copy all pictures of my xD-card that I use for my digicam. There were around 320 pictures on this 512-mb-baby.

However... during the process of copying the folder with the pictures from the card to my hard-drive, the following message appeared:

Das Zeitlimit des angegebenen E/A-Vorgangs auf \Device\Harddisk5\DR9 wurde erreicht bevor der E/A-vorgang abgeschlossen wurde.

Translation:

The time-limit of the particular E/A-process on \Device\Harddisk5\DR9 was reached before the E/A-process was over.

I was given the choices "Cancel" "continue" and something else.

So I press "Continue". The next thing I know is that there's still the copying-bar but it doesn't really change, and I can't access the "My Computer"-folder to access that xD-card. I rebooted the PC, only to find that the xD-folder doesn't pop up when I push in the card and when I try to access it in "My Computer" it tells me that I need to format it. Like, delete all my files. But I haven't yet copied all files.

Is there a way to avoid formatting?

Characters / <DEFEATED> Bobo.
« on: July 06, 2007, 08:48:50 pm »
The layout of this presentation may vary depending on the size of your screen. I suggest viewing this with a resoulion of 1024x768.

About.

This is Bobo.

He says "Hi".

Well, he didn't literally said it. You see, his mouth is sewed.
... let's get to that later on.

His name is Bobo, that is all.
His age can be assumed to be between 17 and 20.

During the big inner-global war in the 21st century, he lost all of his family, and strives through the vast deserts that used to be towns on the search of civilization and ways to survive. Like pretty much everyone in that time.

That led him to creating a rather cold and unethic way of believing. Not as unusual at times of complete disaster and global sorrow. Ethic doesn't fill your empty stomach, after all. Not now.

As he wanders around, his ways cross with the gang of Emma, Ingrid and Takko, and they eventually join. Takko, who usually can't agree with Bobo's points of view is often times in arguments with him, making a complete tit of himself. Bobo is calm-minded, doesn't talk much but thinks a lot.

Why Bobo's mouth is sewed, no one may know why. Why his left eye-socket is empty, no one even dares to assume. It just is. His vocal cords and inner mouth are as advanced as that they allow him to talk almost normally.

Commentary.

Bobo was supposed to be someone completely else at first. Well, as was the story of "Skull'd". I changed one main-fact about him - he's not a doll anymore. There, I said it.

I wanted him to be all cool and stuff, so I gave him a jacket I'm wearing too, along with a bandana on his head, a sewed mouth (I like them, I don't know why) and a missing eye, which refers to the first looks of the Emma-doll some of you may remember. (Emma, however, had her right eye crossed out).

Right, so I want a picture to link to a different website. When I use this:
Code: [Select]
<a href="www.homepage.com"><img src="www.pictures.com/pic.jpg"></a>
then it does link to that site, but it has an ugly blue border around it. How can I prevent that?

My PC's Air-conditioner recently always turns itself off when it doesn't have much to do. That'd be not much of a problem, but ever since that started, my PC started to randomly turn off, too. Probably has something to do with the temperature raising in my PC without my air-conditioner cooling it down. It then sometimes go on and after like, three seconds, off again. Then on, then off, until I stop this madness (lol) with turning of the main-switch.

Is there something I can do about it? Like, adjusting the air-conditioners work?

Entertainment / A beat-and-rhythm-game for the Wii?
« on: May 29, 2007, 11:59:11 am »
Since I'm into EliteBeatAgents a lot recently, I've been wondering what you guys think a beat-and-rhythm-game (like EBA, DDR/Stepmania or Donkey Konga) would be like on the Wii. How could the Wiimote be used in the game?

I figured it would be more of dancing. If any of you guys played WarioWare Smooth Moves, there's a boss in which you have to hold the Wiimote like the guy in the video and respectively move it like that. If you fail to do so, you lose.

I think it might just be like that.

What do you think?
