*INSPIRED BY MFGG WARE*

So here's the deal.

- WTF, matey? -

How many of you have played any of the WarioWare-Games? I played two. :B
So I had this idea. What about certain members of ZFGC being the main-characters of a WarioWare-like game - you know with little stories and to pass each story-level, you have to beat several mini-games with the length of a few seconds? I thought it'd be pretty fun.

I figured that using the mouse for the games, along with the keyboard (each at a time) would be nice too - for the sake of innovation.

- Okay, what can I do? -

At first, I'll recruit a team of coders, graphicers and audio-pros. Even if you're not in the team, you still can contribute a lot. We need a lot of ideas for the "microgames". Credit will be give, of course!
Before you even think about suggesting, though - read below for more informations on what kind of "microgames" we need.

- What is a good Microgame? -

If you ever played a Warioware-game, you probably know. The games are fast-paced, challenging and yet they're simple - even if you play a certain microgame for the first time, you are able to comprehend the situation and react. Usually, only direction-buttons and one or two action-buttons are used.

As for the content of each games - that's when it gets awesome. The stuff that happens might be extraordinairy:
- Break an egg in the right time so it falls in the pan
- Smash a fly with a fan
- Knock on a door

... over sorta odd:
- Grasp a woman's hand before she falls down
- Move the switch of a door so it opens for a plane to fly through
- Balance a broom in your hand and keep it from falling

... to absolutely "WTF":
- Make Link go into a cave
- Save the world with your laser-eyes
- Pick your nose

Your game should be interesting, sometimes simple, sometimes cute, sometimes LOL WUT.
I'll be the judge for choosing appropiate suggestions, and I'll probably advance the judge.

- List of Microgame-suggestions -
Legend: DB=Direction-Buttons (Up, Right, Left, Down), AB1=Action-Button 1, AB2=Action-Button 2, M=Mouse, MB=Mouse-Button

- CHANGE CHANNEL! Move your thumb over the button of a remote (M) and click it (MB) (Fox)
- WATER GO! Use a faucet (Press Left, Down, Right, Up and repeat until it's going) (Fox)
- MAKE DRAMA! Press AB1 as much as possible to post drama-posts on ZFGC (Moldrill)
- FLAME! Press AB1 to make the flaming post, press AB2 when a mod is watches the topic! (Bboy94)
- LIGHT! Press Left, then Right, repeat that until the match is lightened (Kame)
- AVOID! Move the dustbin horizontally with the mouse to avoid a paperball (Ricky)
- SLICE! Wait for the bar on the right to be in red, then press AB1 to slice the Lime (Limey)
- TYPE! Press AB1 and AB2 again and again to type a post (Fox)
- GUIDE! Guide a little guy with your mouse (Fox)
- DANCE, FISSURE! Make Fissure dance on his monitor with random DBs (.TakaM)

-------------

RIGHT. I eagerly await your suggestions! Hopefully, we'll make it. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Finally! It's even better than the first one, in my opinion. The end is corny though. You'll see.

Graphics / I have a request to most of you.
« on: April 03, 2007, 09:27:55 pm »
I noticed that the quality-demand of ZFGC's graphic-section has been going down rapidly. Many of you guys would start throwing every stuff they made on the graphic's section. I don't mean to be a jerk, but there are some demands that need to be made.

  • The Graphics-Section is something where your product of graphic should be exhibited once it's finished or at a state that is worth to be seen. If you made some scrap within three minutes and want to show it, do NOT do that. I'm glad you had something to kill your time, but if it's something without a meaning, a message, anything - it's not worth to be shown to other people.
  • Refrain from posting and showing anything that you don't like yourself. You know you did something wrong when you write "I don't like this at all, but here it is anyway". If you don't like it - why don't you like it? Does something on it look weird? Then - for the love of GOD - fix it, before you show it.
  • The same goes for the word "Just". If it's JUST a quick doodle or JUST a little pixel-art, then why do you think anybody would like to see it? Let alone you sound like a complete show-off when saying it was no big deal for you. At least that way.
  • Take Critic. When we say "This needs work, fix the [object] of it, then it'll be great", we don't mean "You suck and your mum is stupid". Sounds ridicoulus? Well, sometimes I get the feeling that's what most people get when we try to help them. You show it, ask what we think and ACCEPT our opinions. You don't need to share them.
  • STOP LOOKING FOR EXCUSES. "Stop critisizing, oy vay, I don't have photoshop, I was short on time, I'm only 12!" If you think you don't have what it takes to make something half-way decent, then don't even try. If you make something, at least have the guts to stick to it and say "Okay, this time it sucked, thanks for making me realize, you guys. Don't see how this is hard.
  • Nobody cares about your new avatar when you ASK them about it.

I'm by far not the greatest artist or spriter myself, hell no. I'm nothing. But I want to see you guys challenging yourself. Become something great. And the only way to get to that is to make demands.

MY TWO CENTS. Nobody needs to share these opinions, and don't create a drama out of this, either. Thanks.

Audio / Request: Overworld-Theme.
« on: March 24, 2007, 09:50:58 am »
I'd like somebody to make an overworld-theme for me. I know it's a pretty huge request to ask for something custom like that, but I'm dying to have it.

It should be custom, as I said, and I'd love to find some AoL-overworld-elements in it or something. And of course it should be all adventourus and stuff, like a real overworld-theme should be, that thrills you when you walk along the fields.

lol.

I hope somebody can make it... :3

I decided to maybe print something on my hoody (sweater), something... geeky. Whatever. I wondered what would be a good way of doing so? Using special stickers that you have to iron-press on or something? And it should survive a few washings, too...

See subtitle: It should be as
- cheap
- qualitative
- easy
as possible.

Suggestions, anyone?

« on: March 11, 2007, 06:06:56 pm »
Ever since the new forum is up, scrolling turned really slow. So, if I try to scroll with the scroll-wheel on my mouse, it takes ages to move on. However, that only occurs here, and only with Firefox 2.0.0.2.

« on: February 27, 2007, 04:07:16 pm »

Can't remember that at ALL. Pyru: Might be the (dark) basement of Link's house.

Heavily changed.

Early Arbiter's Grounds?

That buddy probably turned into the two guards at the Master-Sword?

That cut-scene is completely gone.

Trees on Snowpeak? Can't remember those.

And I didn't even include the Beta-Woods-Screenshot. For whatever reason they took THAT out. >_>

Actually nothing new, I just wanted to remind you of those. I know that I forgot them. Hehe...

Other Discussion / Program for video-blogging?
« on: February 17, 2007, 12:02:20 pm »
Right, so now I just got my new headset which lets me record my voice, and I still got my webcam. So what I wanna do now is to make a video with my voice and a video of me. To make a video-blog for example. In other words, I want to record both, my voice and a video of me at the very same time. Alas I wasn't able to find any program that allows me to do so.

Entertainment / Flipper-Game for Wii?!
« on: January 21, 2007, 12:01:03 am »
My dad told me today that he'll most likely buy a new game for our (read: MY) Wii. A flipper-game.

 ???

A search on IGN returned no result. I pray to god he confused up the consoles. Flipper is the most retarded and pointless thing to play on a Wii.

Entertainment / WiiSports: Baseball. Vibrating on Control-Pad!?
« on: January 16, 2007, 04:46:18 pm »
I've been noticing for some time that when playing Baseball at WiiSports, as the pitcher, pressing the Digital-Pad (the Cross) on any direction lets the Wiimote vibrate. Pressing these buttons apparently doesn't change anything.
Out of boredom, I've been trying different things, like pressing up, down, up, down and then throwing a speedball, it sometimes returned into a Strike for the batter. Probably coincidence, but...

... anybody knows, if that is doing something? Pressing the Digital-Pad?

Hullo.

I made the following today at school in break and while I should have been doing maths. LOL.

Ah yeah. I like how it came out, though it's kinda inaccurate and stuff. But that's compensated by the fact that I made it with mah phone which is limited to 25 colours.

On the right is the start of a Nun-chuck, I couldn't be bothered to finish it. Too round and stuff. And I looked stupid when actually thinking about how it LOOKED. lol.

Other Discussion / Windows Theme? HALP LOLL
« on: January 14, 2007, 07:51:43 pm »
Yeah, so my WindowsXP-theme is at the look of ol' 98/2000/ME-look. Why? Because apparently I switched of the style-setting for it in "msconfig". I thought, hey, just put on all functions again and you should be fine.

Wrong.

What I am talking about:

This is what it looks like right now:

This is what I WANT it to look like, again:

I don't want to use WindowsBlinds again. If anybody else could offer me a good alternative or EVEN BETTER tell me how to put up the old XP-look again, I'd be very thankful.
