Hmmm, I wonder what IGN and some of the other sites out there will do.

Even though TP is pretty damn exciting, and nice to hear (and see) that the Wiimote works pretty darn well for it, I think Smooth Moves is a bit more exciting. I mean, the remote with that is just kickass. But, yeah, I liked the comment about being formulaic. i think that's why I like Zelda games - it's the same game with new abilities/items/dungeons, really.

Was already expecting that... It will be 10/10 in lots of sites/magazines too (less Joystiq, but... >_>)
Anyways, I'm hoping to see a 11/10 in any place, it will be such... ownage? xD

Most sites don't do that. The thing is, the average joe normally gives scores out of 10 that are about 2 to 3 points higher than what the system really means. 10/10 basically means - within it's capabilities or limitations, it is perfect. 5/10 means that it is good, etc. Only 0/10 means that it is not worth getting/doing/seeing/watching/thinking about.

Actually, 5 SHOULD mean average. Anything below isn't worth getting unless you've got a special interest in it, and anything above IS good and worth getting.

In a standard review system, however, average is 7. Which, I guess, gives a whole lot more room to mark games as "bad", and a whole lot less room to say they're really good.

Exactly. 5 being average, I generally think of the word average meaning "not bad", "fair" or "mostly good".

That's the problem, is that people generally give, like I (and oyu :P) said, about two to three marks higher than really makes sense.
