hehe... badass. i gotta admit though, not as cool as the IGN april fool's prank zelda trailer. But I guess this Megaman movie is actually going to be finished eventually, unlike that cockblock zelda film.

Minus the Asian Megaman (Even though he actually does look like he fits the part kind of), shitty looking robot masters (specially the ones who are just humans with goggles) and the terrible TERRIBLE Roll, this looks pretty good.
Too be honest though, this just looks like the modern day Super Mario Bros. movie.

Because I don't think dudes are cute.... anyway, the movie's good. they cant exactly do an open casting call and have hundreds of people to choose from or anything so live with who they got =P. i think it'll all be awesome regardless.

well, aside from the complications that would normally come from making a sci-fi anime styled work into live action on a low budget, what do you mean? come on, how else do you expect a fan work to do any better? hell, holloywood probably wouldn't do much better, save more special effects.

the first mortal kombat movie? the resident evil series? max payne? look, even the shitty ones don't RUIN the game. They may grossly misrepresent it, but it never reflects on the game franchise itself.

Nah. Silent hill was bad.
Only good one has been Super Mario Brothers. I mean, come on. Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, Dennis Hopper, and Yoshi is a dinosaur. That movie is a shining example of how to make a shitty movie that's still awesome.

but yeah, my point is i kinda hate debating in general. i dont know why I let myself get pulled into it at all. I said you were narrow minded because you kinda seem hell-bent against giving a video game movie a chance, as if you're one of those kind of people that think once an idea has made its mark in one entertainment medium, it should never cross over to another.
it seems to me like you might have a biased and slightly jaded opinion on the movies you have seen, because you want a movie to somehow have the same atmosphere and entertainment value as the game it's representing, rather than just be a good movie in and of itself. people do that a lot about movies based on books, too. I just think you should try to look at anything you watch in a theater with a mindframe of "I'm watching a movie, not a cinematic cutscene taken straight from a game," and keep an open mind about it. I'm sure no one pays the ticket price just to see the exact same game they played or the exact same book they read, except on a bigger screen. And if they do, they're stupid. No matter what name is on that movie, you really should only watch it in hopes it's good as a movie.
directors don't write video games, and game designers don't direct movies. They just like to volley their IPs around.

great writing too, i'd have to say. and sure it's not the greatest acting, but i was rather pleased in it, given the circumstances. i just kinda know first hand what making a low budget movie is like, which is why i sympathize with these guys a lot.

It's not something you can really make into film... For starters, why would a western looking adult male make only asian robots? Dr.Light would look lame as an asian... so it wouldn't work anyway.
As this vid shows, the robot masters would look lame as !@#$% if blown up to human proportions :s

Either way, when I'm trying to discuss this movie on this topic, it's a little annoying when people who have already made their opinion very clear come in and just repeat themselves instead of adding to the conversation. I'm not pointing any fingers, I'm just saying it's happened a couple times in this topic.

You're doing exactly what we are apparently doing, except you have an opposite opinion. Any negative opinion anyone has on this movie you get all "BAW THIS MOVIE IS GREATNESS IN A CAN I LOVE IT YOU ALL HAVE BAD TASTES".
You just can't admit that it MAY suck even a little. The movie is terrible. The actors are terrible (except Light, that guy is actually a pretty good actor). The Robot Masters are !@#$% (seriously? A guy with a paintball mask and spiked hair?). Roll looks like a guy. Megaman looks like a DICK. The list goes on. Of course this is MY opinion, but it'll be seen as BAW YOU JUST HATE IT YOU'RE STUPID.
Also, you say whoever else says Roll is ugly is a !@#$%? What gives you the right to say that? Just because you have terrible taste in women doesn't mean everyone else has to.

I thought it was cool how the robot masters that had human faces in the game are played by humans, and the ones that don't are CGI robots. I also like how they have the same actor playing both Mega Man and Proto Man. Wily's campy acting is hillarious and fits his character. Roll acts like a child because Dr. Light programed her that way. Also, it's Mega Man. If you found a way to make it not cheesy it wouldn't be Mega Man anymore. :P
