Title: Good idea to place conditions for the player in a zelda game?
Post by: Zhello on November 05, 2010, 02:47:22 am
Well  I am still coding objLink,  I was wondering, what if I put conditions for Link?

I was going with something like: if objLink or Hero_of_Time took damage from either fire or ice, an some random point, he will either be frozen or be burned for a short amount of time.  Currently,  I am focusing on something like having the player become unconscious for a certain period of time.  The player cannot move at all and can still take damage while immobilized.

So what do you guys think of conditions added to Link in a game?

I made a mock-up of to show you what I mean.

Both being frozen as well as the whole fire DoT have been present in Zelda games for a while. Ice, since at LEAST LTTP, and Fire since OOT (probably earlier too) They're always nice to have, as they give the player an obstacle to avoid.
