This post says that the number of episodes will be about 100. They will reconstruct the whole episodes.
And They won't redraw the footage in the show. Only some digital effects will be added.

!@#$% YES! Re-edited to shorten the series, redubed by the fantastic Japanese voice actors, frames extended to be widescreen (NOT cropping like FUNimation did, they're actually extending the frames by animating more on the sides), and remastered in 1080p! The re-edited Dragon Ball Z starts airing in Japan on April 5, 2009! This is going to be !@#$% awesome!

Entertainment / !@#$% Club Nintendo
« on: December 16, 2008, 07:51:56 pm »
You don't get points for Virtual Console games and WiiWare games purchased before you registered your Club Nintendo account, and I threw out all the pieces of paper with the PIN codes for games when I bought them because Nintendo never did anything with them. I'll just buy the prizes when people put them on ebay. !@#$% you Nintendo. !@#$% you. :'(

So... anyone want to attempt to figure out what it means?

For Shonen Jump's 40th anniversary, they had a bunch of animated specials made for various anime, and one of them was Dragon Ball! The special is now streaming online, and will be available until the 31st of January! All three Specials even have English subtitles!

Click on Download Browser and install and launch it. After launching it click on Watch this anime on the above link, and it will start streaming in the Jump browser. Enjoy! :D

EDIT: Guess I should mention there's a One Piece special too.

And one for something called Letter Bee, which I've never heard of.

I think it looks pretty good for a fan-made film.

I want to watch movies on my 360, but it seems like all of the streamable movies are crap.

Entertainment / Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts demo on Xbox Live
« on: October 30, 2008, 04:53:35 am »
It's pretty fun if you get over the fact that it doesn't play like the original two games. You get access to one world (Banjo Land) with four Jiggies in it. Since it's only a demo, you can't get that many parts to make your own vehicle, but you can still do some cool things with just the parts provided in the demo.

Entertainment / Which of the Classic Mega Man games have you beaten?
« on: October 05, 2008, 08:32:18 pm »
Wow. I didn't know there were so many spin-off games based on Classic Mega Man before I started making this poll. :o Since I'm weird I decided I had to have all of the spin-offs that you could beat on the list. Anyways, I started playing the original Mega Man games for the first time recently, so I decided to make a poll to see which Mega Man games other people have beaten.

So far I've beaten Mega Man 2, Mega Man 3, The Power Battle, and The Power Fighters.

I seem to remember Hyrule Boy saying something in the topic about the third PSP model that "even Nintendo doesn't rip their fans off that much". Looks like he was wrong.

Its the same concept so many people try (Nintendo world but dark and realistic) but actually done well this time. I thought it was entertaining, and funny at times, so I figured I'd share.

Suda 51 (Killer 7, No More Heroes), Mask de UH (a frequent compatriot of Suda's), Masahiro Sakurai (Kirby series, Smash Bros. series), and Kazutoshi Iida (Aquanaut's Holiday, Doshin the Giant, Tail of the Sun) all got together for ""Foreign Video Game Unlawful Assembly 2K8", where the four looked at Western vs. Eastern development, and many aspects of the two sides. This is only a short writeup about the event (1up will be covering the event in more depth next week), but it's a pretty interesting read nonetheless.

Feedback / Lost Rupees
« on: August 09, 2008, 07:07:26 pm »
I stored all of my rupees in the bank before the site upgrade, and now that there is no bank I lost them all. Is there any way to get them back?

Super Smash Brothers Brawl / Hey luigi!
« on: June 26, 2008, 08:40:01 pm »
I thought you said you'd be ready whenever I'm ready, but you're not online! I've got plans in three hours, and I can't play for the rest of the day after that.

EDIT: Forget it, I'm not wasting anymore of what little freetime I have sitting around waiting for someone who might not even be able to get on. We'll have to do the match Friday.

I'm not mad at you, but I don't want to wait any longer. We'll play Tommorow, okay?

Entertainment / Iwata Asks: Link's Crossbow Training

http://us.wii.com/iwata_asks/crossbow/vol1_page1.jsp

There's some pretty cool nuggets of information in here.

Quote
Miyamoto: I see. Well, where should I start? I’ve always been into first person shooter (FPS) style games, 3D games in which you can walk around freely and see things from your own point of view.

Iwata: And why do you like those games?

Miyamoto: I think it is more comfortable, more natural. We are creatures of habit. We don’t look at our feet when we’re walking around, and we’re always trying desperately to take in the scenery while we’re living our lives. So, even in these games I want people to be able to get really into the 3D geography, so it feels like you’re really there, since I think it’s a really natural thing to be able to look around while you’re walking. At first when we were developing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I even proposed using a first-person perspective.

Iwata: Ocarina of Time from a first-person perspective!?

Miyamoto: I thought that might surprise you! (laughs)

I thought that the FPS system would be the best way of enabling players to take in the vast terrain of the Hyrule Field. Besides, by not having the player’s character on the screen, we can spend more time and machine power on creating enemies and the environments.

Quote
Miyamoto: So we figured that Link was the logical choice. Then we argued that it would’ve been kind of strange for us to give Link a gun, so I proposed a sort of Terminator style story about a time warp from the future, but…

Iwata: Terminator!?

Miyamoto: Yeah, they vetoed that idea immediately (laughs).

http://kotaku.com/386606/esrb-rates-earthbound-for-wii-vc

Also notable is that Nintendo Power gave the top five requested Virtual Console games in the latest issue. Mother 1 was the fourth most requested, ahead of Majora's Mask, but behind EarthBound, Mario RPG, and Chrono Trigger respectively.

Who else has seen it yet? I went to the early showing last night. It's quite possibly my favorite superhero movie ever. Really makes me want to get into the Iron Man comics too. Also, if you haven't seen it yet, make sure you stick around until after the credits. ;)
