the only problem with making dark cloud is, I haven't got it. I've only played a short demo of 3 floors of the first dungeon. But making the georama system wouldn't be as hard as you think, you just make each room with georama elements persistent - the room, not each object! And I'd need a ton of external files, mainly graphics and sound, although possibly some dll's. And as for the random dungeon generator, I remember seeing a random maze maker on the gamemaker forums site. I think that might just be able to be modified to make dungeons. as for chests, monsters, geostones - that's the easy part. If someone could even get me an emulator and rom of the first dark cloud, that would be great. ;)

yeah I prefer the "original" zelda style gameplay to most other styles of ZFG's. Cloud of Darkness was actually a Gamemaker demonstration demo I made for a teacher, but I wanted to carry on with it after as well, just because it's my best game so far, well, i think so. ;D I reckon work on the movement, sword and guards before much else, they need improvement.

whoa there! :o how many different games are those sprites from??? about 4 or 5! I enjoyed the style a bit but not the  graphics... and the movement needs to be a little better (have a look what deku_stick said about the same style movement in my first demo ;)). as for the music, good quality ;D but big mp3's! :( But that's quite alright for a novice game maker. :) If you want, check out Cloud of Darkness, my game, that took about a month (about 5 hours a week).

my guess for sounds is that you used kakario village, wind waker rolling, and OOT sword and cuccos. Just got the other graveyard ones from somewhere else, i suppose.

your choice of reselution, i usually try to use one that doesnt make the graphics look too pixelated.

For all those out there who have played the game, i had this great idea - WHY NOT MAKE DARK CHRONICLE A 2D PC GAME AS WELL AS A PS2 GAME??? (Well i know i enjoyed the game enough to want to have it with me all the time on my laptop, not just my ps2). I have no idea weather to use TGF or GM6 reg. to make it, TGF is good because of faster loading times, and i hear it has a similar programming interface as game maker (I have used that for almost every game i have ever made) but as i just mentioned, i know how to build a lot more with GM6. (I suppose GM6, you can still make external files for the game to use). I was going to put Mp3 music in it, but i need a few artists for characters, tiles, menus, tilesets, items, and every other friggin sprite in the game. if you want to join the team as an artist (or any other position you can offer that i need) submit a sample.

CHARACTER SPRITERS - [either max, monica, or a monster facing L,R,U,D (no animation yet, unless you really want to)]
TILESET SPRITERS - [1 set of dungeon tiles made with one of the dungeon themes]
ITEM SPRITERS - [5 item/weapon icons for the menu]

That's all for now - I'll check this at least twice a week.  ;)

did you, perhaps, get the idea of battle style from mystery dungeon? because, it is quite similar, apart from the fact that finding battles are still random... or are they?  ;)

More interactive enviorments. So far, every fan game on ZFGC (Except CoD) has had minimum to no interactive enviorments. Being able to pick up things on the ground that have nothing to do with the actual game is alot better then nothing.
If CoD is my game you're talking about, cloud of darkness, thanks for mentioning it. I have always considered interactive enviroments important in games, as they help make the game seem more real and lifelike, not completely static so all you can do is collide with them. I also have tried to make all the things you can do in MC, plus more, and I am now working on a system I call the HIS (Hylian Invention System) which has around 50 construction elements to build weapons and other items needed to progress in the game.

i cant run the demo... it says unexpected error occurred when running the game. I've had that before too on my games, but i can't test yours.  :'(
