Except it only appears to be in Japan for now. I mean it could be worldwide, but I'm waiting for a similar announcement from NoA about this.

It must take a lot of skill to try and get 2nd place on purpose
I tried to get 3rd place in a contest on purpose earlier this year and succeeded. I'm still not sure how.

Actually no sprites were taken directly from Minish Cap.

Heavily inspired by MC, maybe, but nothing was taken directly from the game and used as-is.

Peh, nothing will beat this rack:

Hilariously enough this design is what they're using for the Great Fairies in this game.

Except, of course, without !@#$% so pointy they could cut glass.

Strangely, all that came to mind for that one was a simple trolling mini game where blue and white Ganondorf is the exact opposite of the normal version. You play as him, and he is always stupidly grinning and prancing along in a horizontal scrolling platformer in which everything is all green and sunshine with rainbows and there are flaming enemies that are trying to set ablaze little bunnies that Ganondorf is holding in his arms as he takes them from one side of the stage to the other side (which is the safety zone where the bunnies are safe for some reason). And that's it. I doubt that's what you had in mind though. :P Oh, and there is a dorky happy-go-lucky version/arrangement of the OoT Hyrule Field theme song that plays as background music..... yeap, someone other than me should be the one to make a game with blue and white Ganondorf, obviously.
No no no I think you're the perfect person to make that game. :3

The footage was in-engine, and the cutscene likely didn't start until the laser-thing attacked. Before then, even though nothing was happening, that was likely actual gameplay footage. How it will look in-game and stuff. Maybe not at that camera angle, but still.

And even then, the cutscene was rendered in-engine. It just moved the characters and camera as necessary. The game will look like that, I'm sure, though we may not see it at those angles.

Why is it when sites go down, which happens from time to time, people instantly assume OMG LEGAL ISSUES ARE THEY IN LEGAL TROUBLE LEGAL

I'm sure it's nothing. Let's wait for an official response, but let's also not jump to any conclusions eh?

I'm too lazy to find the topic if it exists. So here's an info dump.

Producer: Hisashi Koinuma, Yosuke Hayashi
Supervisor: Eiji Aonuma
Developer: ω-Force・Team NINJA
Link sets off to rescue Princess Zelda, who has been kidnapped by the evil witch Shia.
The magazine introduces Link, Impa, Shia, and some of her minions (whose names start with 'Va' and 'Wi').
Location includes Hyrule Field
Interview with Koinuma, Hayashi, and Aonuma. Says there's some unexpected playable characters.

Package price of \7,980, DL price \6,980. Also a premium box for \11,644.

The premium box contains a Tri Force shaped tabletop clock, and six serial codes for special costumes.

Two players can play simultaneously, one playing off the TV and the other playing off the game pad. During single play, the game pad is used as a sub menu.

The play style evolves with the ability to set your character with various weapons, such as the speed focused sword and damage focused heavy weapons.

The game has a weapon strengthening system and elements of character growth.

Uses the action style of Dynasty Warriors as a base, and adds the Z-targeting from the Zelda games. Skillful play makes avoiding attacks and aiming for enemy weak points simple.

The Zelda series's familiar spin attack is replaced with the Musou attack from Dynasty Warriors.

The bomb returns. It sounds as though its use isn't limited to chucking at enemies.

Impa, a newly appointed captain of the Hyrule army, is confirmed as a playable character. She uses a giant sword.

Besides Link and Impa, the game is expected to have a number of other playable characters. Aonuma is even noted commenting on the great number of characters planned.

The game will be playable at E3.

Current development progress is 70% complete.

Boob lady there is a witch named Shia (she's already been mentioned as Zelda's kidnapper) and that guy is Varuga.

Also that thing in the lower-right of the last scan is Wizuro, if I translated that properly.

Source, Source, Source

Also here's a few better-quality pics

In the end you realize that zfgc's expectations are actually rather low, after all, this whole website was based on a game that never even reached beyond the stage of a basic engine test.
Like I said, we need Demo 4. That'll solve everything :P

Yes, I am totally bumping this topic from over a year ago.

But that's only because the album is officially out!

Grab that !@#$% ASAP. Oh and you might wanna go to the about page for Essence of Lime so you can click the images there for a special surprise. It's vital for that Secrets page. THAT IS ALL I'LL SAY

As someone who once made a craptacular collection of Zelda-themed minigames (it was tic-tac-toe, Pac-Man, and something else that I forget), I second Leduardo's suggestion.

What we need is obviously Demo 4.

I'm glad to see this as a topic here, since it is something that needs to be addressed. The big ideas have already been mentioned, such as more competitions and stuff, while other ideas have rightfully been shot down (like removing Zelda from the site's name), but there has to be more.

I do agree that the Wiki needs to be more visible; hell, until recently I didn't realize that's where my little intros for featured projects were being posted simply because no one told me. And if they did I probably forgot, so either way.

I think having free resources available for people to use would go a long way as well. We've had such a system available in the past, and I think it works to centralize the resources (sprites, tiles, music, etc) here to really match the name. I've always liked that idea, because it made the forum feel less like just a place to talk about games and more of one to share resources and stuff to help others build their game. I mean we still have stuff like that with the Project Zelda Engine, but I think being a hub for projects would serve us well in the long run.

That's really all I can think of.

And also read the stuff about it on the Wiki cause there's cool stuff there too.

Huzzah! Nice work!
