Audio / Re: Can anybody get me these soundtracks (in MIDI)?

Enemy Attack, you looking for something similar to when common enemies confront you in OOT?

Like this?

Sort of. There is a part in my game where you get locked in a room and have to fight off a bunch of enemies. It happens in Minish Cap, and that is where that type of music is used.

Ok, I'd have to look later to see if I have it, I have a few enemy encounter themes but most likely remixes of it or snes versions of OOT songs.

The audio in that video seemed unnecessarily choppy... Are you sure that it's from a valid source?

Agreed, I think he brought that back because some people liked it, despite the weird voiceover and stuff. The owner of the channel is the guy who plays the fan games and gives criticism on what he likes/dislikes, etc.
I guess I need to lower the difficulty of the enemies in my game to prevent rage quitting, I don't like making things too easy lol [insert aggressive mobile Beamos], they're gonna love this one :D.

And I still only needed roughly 6 to 12 more months before my next demo was done. Darn it. So close... XD

I'm skipping the event this year.

@Zhello: Will you be showcasing the "new beginnings" game? Looks interesting.

Yeah, last time my demo was a bit rushed, I forgot to add the music files with the game lol.
I've been working on a new zone and dungeon, so I may show case it instead of having the player play from the beginning, but it depends.

Nice! XD
Well I guess resources wouldn't be a problem for you, if anything, there is some Jellyeye's sprites, and some from Bruce, can't remember his surname, and a bunch from late OOT 2D projects as well.

Discussion / Re: Game Design Survey: Choosing Perspective
« on: April 21, 2015, 03:35:40 pm »
I like it say if the party only splits of for a little bit in the entire game, then if you get to play through each persons perspective separately for just that one stage in the game. Can't really think of any examples right now, but I have a feeling it happens quite a bit in rpgs. Playing as say ashley for a bit in rs4 also comes to mind. I also loved how the end credits of the skyward sword showed the story through zeldas perspective. Definitely a good thing to think about if it can be done well. The new fire emblem game (if?) too deals with this in quite an extreme way of having you pick one side or the other of two warring nations and playing through the entire game from that side, and having to buy the other game (or get it as dlc for cheaper) if you then want to experience the other, because of how different they two stories actually are., apparently

Agreed. The game that comes to mind right now is Seiken Densetsu 3. What I liked about it is depending on the character you pick, you go through the story differently, and the end-boss varies for which ever character you play as. As the story continues on with your choice of character, you see how it unfolds, if you didn't play as the other choices, you see how the story is different and or somehow crosses with the characters you didn't pick to begin with.
Chrono Trigger is another example, the end-game is the same, however, you can choose to go through the story how you want, with or without certain characters, or progressing in the game differently, which results in different endings.

I myself wish more games go about this path. Games that offer choice is a plus lol, you can go about it differently than the next guy, and the end-result varies for anyone who plays the game, mainly if the game has multiple endings that are good or bad (game overs).

Welcome back Majora :D.
So you have a tool in mind to make this project. java, GML, or whatever?

EDIT: never mind, noticed the screenshot after refresh lol.

It is gonna be tough doing it alone, but you say you got some free time, so you can get a lot done with planning.

ZFGC is Dead Long Live ZFGC

not dead.... But UNdead ;) *wink*

What are you developing this in, if you don't mind me asking?

It should be game maker 7/8 pro, the lttp engine was the basic open source dlbrooks made a while back.

96
Sweet, would like to try it out.  XD

That is one of dlbrooks33's engines, I think I had a few modified codes of it laying around, if you need something just let me know.

I know that it doesn't have swimming implanted, I managed to add that if you need it.  8)

Also keep in mind to try to stop some events from repeating, some people can exploit stuff in the game itself, so you have to try and prevent that.

If anything, credit Dlbrooks33 aka KoH if it's the modded version

So Nintendo finally woke up on that issue? Wish this was back then, some good projects got C&D'd.

Also does this go for people making videos of Nintendo games/ game-plays on YouTube? I think there was an issue with that, people having their videos taken down or Nintendo demanding a bit of money from said video.
