Well, I have been into indie music for a while, I enjoy it alot the main problem I have is that I don't know many bands or songs soo.. can anyone recommend me some bands or songs or both ? I have some of Franz Ferdinand, Artic Monkeys, the Fratellis, Stereophonics, The Black Keys, Block Party, MGMT, The Subways, etc..

The main problem is that I have like one song from each band >_> (I would buy the cd but it is really hard to find good indie cds around here.)

Well, It seems that Konjak made a 2d Sidescrolling Zelda fan game, I saw some videos and wtf best zelda game ever. here is the full note:

I made this one-level arcade interpretation of Zelda for no reason but being a big damn nerd and just needing to take a break from having little motivation with Solar Plexus. Also, I wanted to try out the item-system changing parts of the level slightly.

It's pretty challenging, not tested a whole lot and the gamepad support might be strange on some joypads, I haven't tried it on any but mine.

At least now I'm burnt-out on making arcadey action games for a while.

It is a kind of love letter to Zelda, my personal favorite game series, both from nostalgia and its often great design. The Legend of Zelda-franchise is obviously a NINTENDO-copyrighted franchise, and this game, while admittedly trying to be like a bootleg Zelda, should not be sold etc., but that goes without saying.

Special thanks to Gustav Kilman, Dustin Hoffman Gunn, Kyle Pulver, Annabelle Kennedy and Adam Saltsman for a bit of testing and stuff.

After a month of being just a simple rock in my school smoking area he decided to get some auto identity by adding some glasses and a mouth into his face, then he realized he was naked and drawed some shirt on his body (but no pants :s), after a week of talking with people in the smoking area he learned how to smoke, currently he is a active smoker and a drugadict.

Well, hmm to make it short I am just asking for plans of what you are going to do about all the locking the staff had made, not arguing about it or just reporting it.

If you want it via pm just ask me but I believe the community should participate in giving ideas and opinions.

Yeah I know staff make errors, I know they want to prevent attacks and everything but I see this ridiculous they are just so many locked topics without any reason, if you see people vashing a staff then warn him, if he continues then just ban him, but I am against locking topics, It has happened that I want to comment on certain subject and I see the topic locked, same happened with the old thread about locking topics.

So yeah I am asking the Staff what are there plans to stop this? you can't continue locking topics just because you feel so.

Recruitment / Requesting creative drawers/writers

Well, I have been working on a game since July or August, at first I started doing random sprites, but now I really want to complete it, currently they are enough graphics for a small test demo, but no engine has been done since I want to finish the graphics first and later start coding or get a coder.

The only problem I have is that I have tons of problems getting some enemies design, I have some boss ideas but for enemies design or as far as the story goes nothing has been decided, I am just adding whatever pop into my head.

Hmm the game so far is a 2d Sidescroller, it has some inspiration in many sidescrolling games such as Kirby, Cavestory, Metroid, Kid Icarus,Metal Slug etc.. the user may be able to explore the game as in Metroid but be able to have a different arsenals depending on powerups like in MetalSLug and in Cavestory, and the graphics have a Kirby touch into it.

The job of the Drawers will be:
- Critique the spritings and anything in general
- Do some enemies Concept
- Do some NPCS concept
- do any enviroment concept.

The job of the Creative writer will be:
- Complete the story in general
- give some cool ideas that might be used
- Critique the spriting or the Drawers ideas.
- Give ideas in general.

Anyone is allowed to join though, there will be no datelines for any drawing but the faster I get some ideas the faster we will finish the game. Please send me a PM in here or just add me to your msn: mfd_123@hotmail.com

I found this about the future of keyboards, still in concept but it is an amzing idea:
This is an amazing concept that could revolutionize something as simple and ubiquitous as the keyboard. This keyboard works more like a touch screen than a keyboard, there are no actual keys. This means that it is not limited to standard keyboard set-up. It's more like an extra screen that happens to be touch-sensitive. It reminds me of the interfaces on the Enterprise in Star Trek The Next Generation.

Here are just some of the ways I could think of using this keyboard:

   1. Imagine you are playing a game and the unnecessary keys disappear, leaving only the keys you'll need for the game. It would also rename those keys to better coincide with what they are used for. Not only that, it could serve as an additional screen where you can see all the heads-up display options without having to change the main view. I'm sure the gaming industry would be the first to take full advantage of this.
   2. Part of the keyboard disappears and becomes a tablet for designers.
   3. No more pop-up menus blocking your work. As you can see from the picture below the keyboard can change to a swatch without having to cover your screen.
   4. No more having to exactly memorize keyboard shortcuts. When you load up Photoshop (or whatever program you use) the keys change and actually tell you their function instead having to memorize the list.

This keyboard concept was designed by Art. Lebedev Studio.

My only concern is that I don't have any enemies designed, so if anyone gives ideas and they get used I will obviously give credits, I don't care if they are wacky like a toaster that attacks you, any help is welcomed and appreciated

Well, I find it really annoying that people keep on changing their names, the staff used to say it was temporarly but it has been a month? or more, I dont remember really, so I am wondering if you have any limit date to allow us to either change our name or return to the original or whatever other thing we want.

Yeah like a week ago my little brother bought this Mexican video game magazine, but until today I got time to read it and found out that Ainevoltas II appeared in there, I must admit that I am really impressed to see an indie game in that magazine:

Well, a week or so ago, AoDC asked for "moar anime" well then I decided to see some of the animes you recommended, first I watched Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, in two days, I was really amazed, it reminded me to FLCL but with a more serious touch, I really loved Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.


Then afterwards I decided to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, the anime, Death and Rebirth, and lastly the end of Evangelion. Well the reason why I made this thread is because I want to understand why many people love the serie? After watching the 26 ep I was dissapointed since I was always expecting an ep explaining everything, or atleast something different, most of the angel missions are really lame, the only ones I really liked are the Eva 03 transforming into Angel 13 and the Angel 17 one, but still the ending of the anime was really lame and the ending of the End of evangelion was really odd, Again I would love to know why people love this anime and I would also love to see some anime suggestions

I saw FLCL this friday and man! I wasn't expecting a that good anime, I really loved the jokes, and the way the autor controls time, since it sometimes confuses you but at the time it looks really good, the story line is so confusing that is amazing how it lets everything to what you beleive is happening, it never actually tells you a thing about the evil guy, again I want more animes like this any idea :3?

well I have most of my resources in my photobucket account, and I deleted most of those from my hard ddrive.. so I am wondering if there is a way of just posting the link in the gallery and that it also appeared, basically that would save me one or two hours.
