I finally got around to installing IE7 on my computer(already had it on my laptop) so I decided to make a topic about IE 7, despite FireFox being the majority favored browser on ZFGC. I love the new lookout and zoom feature(No more having to copy and past tiny text into notepad! ;D) and they also added tabs, but I'm not too interested in that. Anyone else have IE 7 yet?

Sol edit: Fixed the topic title for you so it matches the actual name, WIE7. It's not MSIE7.

IE 7 is actually Windows Internet Explorer now, not Microsoft Internet Explorer :P

But I do have it installed. It's better than IE6, that's for sure. But I still like my Firefox. Adblock FTW.

I use IE7 and have been since RC1 of Vista. It is 100x smoother, sexier and feature-packed. A recommended download for all.

Only reason I'll ever get it is for cross-browser compatibility web-design.. and now I have to change all my css standards to suit IE7 instead of IE6  :P (well, only when IE6 isn't used for Windows anymore). However much better it is than IE6, I don't enjoy using it, it just feels awkward and not comfortable. I'm used to FireFox and Opera and so I guess I'll continue to use those. BUT, thank god microsoft finally pulled their fingers out their asses... several years late, but better than never.

IE7 should have come out at the early betas of FF to smash the competition. They are just too lazy. It is really good though. ie7 ftw.

It seems "laggier" when it loads up pages/first starts up, but I like IE7 nevertheless. I stopped using IE7 for a while because it doesn't load pages anymore, and I had to use Firefox's IETab. Found out the problem, which was that my antivirus wasn't loading. I turned everything security related off because I had trouble with gaming. IE7 works like a charm now  ;D

It's pretty good, but imo, Avant is better.

Check it out.

I loath Avant. My cousin used it for a while, it pissed me off, and I think i deleted it off her machine because it sucked so much. Alafox all the way. :)

Alafox? Hm...never heard of it. Unless you mean Firefox. In which case, it sucks. I've always hated Firefox. It's such a RAM hog.

It is a RAM hog, that I hate about it. However, in safe mode (minus extensions and themes), it doesn't take too much RAM. As for AVant, i used to use it, back when it was still "advanced Browser", because I liked tabs, but switched to FF when I heard about it. And about IE7... does it finally support transparent pngs? Check my avatar to see.

I sometimes wonder if people don't realise how firefox works and why it takes up so much ram.

You have one window, that basically opens other windows inside of it. IE6 runs seperate processes everytime you open it, so you don't pay much attention to the 10,000k or 5,000k processes that are entirely seperate. When you run firefox, and you have three tabs open you're most likely taking up about 30,000k of your ram or so, because you have 3 seperate windows open. IE also is sucked into windows pretty far, so the actual physical ram that it shows that its taking up is less than what it probably actually is.

On Diggnation, one of the co-hosts, said he 'd like to fork Firefox and make "Alafox" with his head spinning in the corner drinking beer (since thats basically what they do on the show). A fan of theirs created Alafox as a joke. I was mainly joking.

I didn't notice that transparent PNGs worked now untill I went to school today (They have 6.0) and saw that Kame's avatar wasn't transparent. Also, I appoligize if there's some spelling errors in this post, the Spell Checker won't load at school. :(
