Coding / Re: Anyone good at html?
« on: February 22, 2011, 04:09:57 pm »
I was getting the same problem, but after making the following changes:

Code: [Select]
HTML Changes:
a. Gave your logo+navigation table these attributes: 'id="left"', 'width="260"'.

CSS Changes:
a. Replaced these properties of '#page': 'margin:0 auto;' replaced with 'float:left;'
b. Gave '#left' this property: 'margin-left:81px;'.

It now looks like the image below. Hopefully an improvement. It still does drop the page div down below the navigation table when resized enough, but at least it keeps the borders normal. It looks similar in IE6, IE8, Opera(v.10.?), Safari(v.?), and Firefox(v.3.5.16).

A piece of art is just some poignant creation. What's poignant and noteworthy to me, could be something that you didn't even notice was there. And it's surely a disgrace that someone else(who thinks they know something) wants to burn.

This whole thing's an anything.

the definitions of art suggest we allow it ambiguity.
everyone argues for their own side.

This here ..is a mess of points(not a single one bullet), sorry:

Usability.
No discs to swap and such with cloud - Can be a hassle with traditional. Also disc based media can be scratched, worn, fail, etc... But then again, cloud based reliability is at the behest of whoever's serving it. What kinds of games could be more/less advanced based on the performance(bandwidth), and social(online) trade-offs?

Cost.
What types of games would cost how much to serve over a cloud? Would companies charge fairly, or the same as retail even when it should be cheaper? if subscription based will the costs eventually be more than if you just bought all the games you play traditionally? How does it compete with services like XBOX Live that serve to complement traditional games? Do you value a physical copy? If ad based, is that too intrusive?

I didn't exactly stick to a strict definition of "cloud" ... My thought got lost in a mix of the gametaps and steams and xbox live arcades and online card games and chat rooms and some concepts I've seen .......but anyway, those are my thoughts.

There were people using the technology that powers the motion controls utilized by the Wii, years before people even speculated that the Wii was gimmicky.

old tech. A new use. A new application. A new Industry. A new Audience. New Marketing. (A new Generation?)

It's all just semantics, yeah, but this is how most people and dictionaries seem to define "gimmick". To reference a sort of .."tacked-on" feature. And it's easy to imagine someone "tacking on" 3D visuals, or ..touch screen controls, to a design that's otherwise just fine. But was it made better? For just me? For you? ...there are a thousand ways to fork this now, from here, and end up loving and/or hating 3d stuff...

Actually, game art does not concern me at all.  The end videogame product is all that interests me.
Yes, and we're speculating on a Zelda forum about the relevance of concept art to the concepts that will take prominence in the eventual end videogame product.

Guys, we're missing the big picture, i think the truth is, Santa, Waldo, and Now 1 goron are in the new Zelda game. I can't wait to see how they all play into the game.
Totally what I was thinking. My anticipation for this game just seriously went up!

..still wondering though... As great as that cast list sounds, Has anyone spotted this guy yet?
_____________
PS. Maybe we've all been too focused on the lower-left/center of this image? I have a feeling we're looking too far into it...

You can have so much fun laughing at each other holding such silly controllers at the arcade, but at home it just seems...sad really.

As for "erm, why?", The move must seem profitable. Maybe someone made note of the contest/commercial just because of an obnoxious "IN 3D!!!" ..hmmmmm.....
And we all just heard.

Anyway, have fun with your XBOX, and may I suggest Conker: Live and Reloaded(assuming you haven't played the original), a GTA game(though they can sometimes get repetitive), and HALO ..so that you can be part of the "club" >_>.
Enjoy :).
Man, Conker for N64 was a great game. I never played much of it, maybe I should go back again.
Yes, you should :D.
I've only played it on XBOX, but it's a really, really great game :).

I had an original XBOX for a few years, and it worked great for the whole time that I used it(I haven't gotten rid of it yet)! I've had a 360 for 6-months to a year now, and it's also worked great. I sympathize with your PS2 story, DRE's KILLED my PS2 :'(.

Aren't you jewish though?, cuz I thought jewish people were against violence and nudity and profanity (which there are a lot of those things in Xbox Games...well, at least the fun ones)
Just as there are crazy devout people to all theisms, who twist the teachings there own ways; there are Jews like that. So yes, there are some Jews like that... but not like you're thinking >_>. (from a born jew, ..and a logical being with google)
Near everyone's a theist of something, somehow, these days; as a result you'll see claimed-Christians do stuff that's "soo not Christian". Also, I think that anybody with their own conscience should make the decision if violence in a video game/movies/etc.. is alright for them and their family. Times have changed since the B.C.'s....... some things are "virtual" these days :o.

Entertainment / Re: The Simpsons Movie SUCKED!
« on: August 08, 2007, 08:45:26 pm »
I recently, um, "bought tickets" to see it but I haven't got around to watching it yet.  Hopefully it's better than the Family Guy movie...it was just three episodes put back-to-back...mediocre episodes at that.  The South Park movie and Beavis and Butthead Do America were both pretty good IMO, hopefully I'll enjoy this movie as much as those.  I used to love the Simpsons but I haven't watched it in years...hopefully this will redeem the show within my mind.

Also, anyone who says Canadians aren't funny hasn't given them a chance.  Some of the funniest actors in American movies are Canadian after all...we stole them from Canadia. <(intentional...)

Actually the Family Guy movie first came out on DVD as an actual movie, but when they released it on tv they just cut it into 3 episodes.
Yep, I know.  But if I remember correctly, even in movie form it was split into three "acts"...I could be wrong, I haven't watched it since it first came out, but I think so.
It was. It was essentially three episodes, with filler from the "Premier Night" mixed in.
There were even different writers for each "Part". Nevertheless, it was a well-put-together trio, and felt more movie'ish than your average episode(then again, average episodes are only ~22mins).

But it wasn't as movie'worthy as The Simpsons Movie, imo. Futurama is taking an in-between/opposite approach: making a movie-movie, and then cutting and "reconfiguring" them into episodes. Should be interesting to see the episode "versions" :D.

I was waiting for this thread :).

I saw the movie days ago. All in all, I'd say it's on par with some of the better episodes of the series(yes, of the entire series >_>).

It was very funny, as well as very Simpsons-like. Despite there only being a handful of laugh out loud moments - I was chuckling, and had a smile on my face for nearly the entire run of the movie('The Simpsons' has always been an experience like this, ..to me, at least). Also, the pacing stood out when comparing it to an episode; that is: it felt like a movie, natively. The plot(no matter how ridiculous) could not be crammed into a half-hour - and actually, it still felt like it needed to be fleshed out more, even after 87minutes(i.e.:the movie ended too fast). Then again, I guess it's better to be left wanting more, than to have a 2-hour colossal bore. (..rhymes! =D)
Also, I enjoyed the Simpsons'ish emotional touches as well(Marge's Tape, etc..)

It's true that most of this movies' plot, and sub-plots have already been done in some way on the show; but they were done very well here(perhaps better than ever), and of course, were just different enough for the fans. Nevertheless, they have already done 18seasons, ..soo... x_X. (it's no excuse, but I'm just saying that it's great that they still come up with anything original)

Err...and I thought "President Schwarzenegger" was very.. blatant. And plus, that guy was basically just 'Rainier Wolfcastle'. It's no biggie, really, and was probably just done to appeal to the "non-fanbase" audience, so that they would get the [quite obvious]joke. (lol, non-Simpsons'-fans ..in 2007!? xD)

But most of all, this movie was like a super-EPIC extension of The Simpsons. And not just because of the Length and the word "Movie", or even the better animation, but those all helped.

. . .That sounded way more like a "Review" than I ever intended >.>.

Oh, and the part where Homer and Bart go over Springfield Gorge on a motorcycle made a whole life of watching every Simpsons episode completely worth it.
That was the perfect nostalgic treatment to anyone who's seen that episode XD. Someone on another forum pointed out how the ambulance from the original episode("Bart the Daredevil") was still crashed into the tree in the movie - a little detail that I missed XD.

Now I just have to patiently wait for the first Futurama DVD-Movie to come out on November 27th(it was revealed at Comic-Con). Yippie!

PS: I'm glad that this thread isn't full of a bunch of staunch "I haven't watched the Simpsons since Season 10; it makes me cry, ..and ur stupid" type people. A nice break from some other forums. The Simpsons used to have more hits, and the style has changed a bit.. I'd have to agree; ..but I'm not a crazed Simpsons Traditionalist/Fundie/whatever...

hmm... I'm afraid I'm sort of useless here, sorry. But maybe the picture has enough detail to make assumptions on the kind. I don't think it's a venomous kind, as I explicitly looked at most venomous spiders in Florida at the time of this.

but that's all I know...(or think that I know).

How big was it? (The pictures make it look bigger, probably. The only reason mine is to scale is because I scanned the actual spider)
oh, hehe. Your pictures make more sense now, they're scans :P. They looked kind of funky to me before.

Mine looks bigger or smaller depending on monitor size/resolution. Also, mine has a nice amount of detail, which makes it look bigger. Those details wouldn't of stood out, unless the picture was very zoomed in (which it is).

I don't remember the exact size, as it was about two and a half months ago(going by the date on the image files). But it was ..sizeable; I don't think it was any danger, after spending a few mins doing 'net research, but it was just ..large. Smaller than my hand, for sure, ..i don't know specifics :S.

Watch out though, it's sixteen megabytes.

Interesting Spider!
A while back there was a nice sized one in our house, ..yours is a bit more frightening in picture though :P.

Spider approaching:

..
...
....
. . . .

..just moments before getting crushed with a frying pan(that I went on to cook wi wash)

Due to the angle(and the image cropping), it looks smaller than it actually was >_>.

It was high up, right by the corner of the ceiling, but still on the wall - I had to climb up on a narrow ledge with a frying pan in hand, to kill it >_>. (not before snapping pictures, though) [sounds epic, doesn't it?]

I'd be lying if I claimed to have ever played a PC (MMO)RPG. D:
Nevertheless, I'll troll this thread with my irrelevance.
However, I do have a handful of other PC Games(some really good ones =D), but those are totally useless with my current laptop(complete with corrupted graphics) >__>. I don't know if I'll ever let myself get too addicted to a game that I'd have to pay for monthly; I detest most subscription services! But, I'll probably get into the PC scene again(as I used to be), ..some other day, when I'm on a non-broken, new PC.

I want to get one of these games sometime soon; not yet sure which one I want, though :(.
I enjoyed playing Pokemon Red way back in the my day(I still have it(I don't get rid of things easily =)). And I had Sapphire, but ..something happened to it ...

I'd rather download roms than make myself look like some 10-year-old buying pokeymanz games.
I'd say that your issue is not that you would look like an overgrown kid. It's the fact that you lack the self-confidence to not give a !@#$%.

Do you want to buy a game, despite its image? Well then, get it at your nearest retailer without thinking of what the cashier will think >_>.

Seriously, it's pretty much impossible to like the games.  As bad as the first two were, R/S was a big pile of c***.  It was so easy that it got tedious, there's little to do other than the main quest, and the story is even worse.  I'd rather play FF5.
And that's, ..uhhhh, everyone's opinion? ::).
I like Pokemon, as well as FF. You like FF, but not Pokemon. On the other hand: there's probably a series that I don't like, that you do. It's called opinion.

I've never played Golden Sun :D. But I hear they're great, so the fact that this rumor is false, is nevertheless ..disappointing; as in the end, it means one less great game, in the future.

I just opened the link and said... "WTF? FAEK!!!", then I read all your orgasmed posts... Why would a random user from some forum just come and post screenshots with no fundment, one of those an already existing artwork... And how the hell would they put Felix as a main character again, without destroying any part of the storyline?
haha, I agree. My first reaction was "where's your source :|". ..Granted, the poster admitted that it could be false >.<.
