1.  your trailer shows that the hud sometimes makes it hard to actually see the doors on top of a room

Ooh, headrush! Umm let's see..
For your first question, yeah, I know it looks a bit odd, but I can't think of anything to do about  it.. I'd anyone can, I'll be in your dept!
I'll finish this post later when I am at a real computer, typing on my iPod is so hard and tedious.

All you do is sprite the rooms smaller so that the top parts are below the hud and make the hud opaque........

Hey I thought you had done very good job on the engine.

There are just a few annoyances

1. Link doesn't swing his sword, and lunges instead. This feels extremely limited as you always have to be in line of your enemy and sometimes you can just be a few pixels off.

2. Bombs go off too quickly, also add more animations to it when its about to explode.

3. Where is the sword charging?!

4. Also when I died and went to continue, sometimes this error message would come up:
___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Alarm Event for alarm 2
for object objGO:

Error in code at line 1:
   objLink.sprite_index=sprLinkR

at position 22: Unknown variable sprLinkR

5. You should only be able to select a menu option once because at the moment you can spam the key and the option choice will just repeat.

6. Your map design needs to compliment the AI of the enemies. Example:

You can just go straight through the middle and avoid the enemies easily since the top two will just stay in the same spot and the other two won't get to you in time. Refine enemy AI and think closely about map design and it should work out.

I hope I've given you enough constructive criticism to further improve your game. I'll be keen to check out the full version :)

Back from our break from working on the game me and sgamer8t88 have realized over the past year of work we have done on the game, we are no where near the finished product. We had underestimated the scale of the project and has been overwhelming for only two people to work on.

That's why we are currently looking for new people to join our team who have experience spriting and with coding in MMF2 as well as the imagination for an engaging plotline.

Just a snapshot (a big one :P) of some of the things you will be working on.

For The Legend of Zelda Lynna’s Fate we need our own custom menu. Me and Brayden were originally thinking of just changing the menu from Oracle of Ages and taking out the text we didn’t need and putting in Lynna’s Fate. But it was look stupid with “fate” taking up the bit where it says “AGES” so we thought maybe a custom menu would be best. If any spriter is keen for the challenge they can either: change the existing menu from Oracle of Ages to make it work withour games title OR make a custom menu completely different to the
Oracle of Ages one.

Secondly we want to distinguish our intro from the Oracle of Ages one. Seeing as Lynna City is going to be destroyed we thought for the picture to the right it would be epic if instead of the castle in the picture to the right, why don’t we have Lynna City destroyed and Link in the intro will be looking over it from the cliff on Epona. If this was done properly it would
look amazing with fire and smoke engulfing the town while Link is looking down on it.

Programmers, you will be bringing the game to life! Coded in MMF2 this project needs people who have the determination and willpower to annihilate stupid and annoying bugs and glitches. You must have minimum 1 year experience in the program and have a general idea on how to code stuff such as custom engines and fastloops.

Lastly, we lack an in depth plot! We have the basic concept down but it’s not even close to its full potential. So in saying that we are seeking someone who has some great ideas for a plotline and will be dedicated towards making a proper plotline for this game.

Please go to these links to find out more about the game and to play the demo!

I just like to give an update on what me and SGamer8t88 are currently doing at the moment. Our main focus at the moment is to fix the things that we probably rushed and overlooked for the demo release.

Yesterday we started making the game 2x and now we are currently tweaking the code for the new size. Movement is much faster now, and I've started to recode the scrolling. The problem with the scrolling before was that we were regrettably using a crappy widget which held us back from getting a smooth scrolling transition. At the moment I'm just fixing up a bit of the scrolling code but Link now stops and gets shifted into the next screen as he should.

What next? Well now were still fixing the bugs that the community had found in the demo and we probably won't add any new content at this time until we get the bugs under control.

Also a big thanks for all the comments by the community, they have all been taken into consideration and are much appreciated.

And try out the demo if you haven't already !!!!!!!!

ALSO

We saw how many people prefered a zip file and the exe to play the game so we have reuploaded the game with that. Just to note that you will have to install the fonts manually. To do this go to control panel, fonts and drag the .ttf files which are CRUZE, Triforce, zeldadxt into the font list. I'm not sure if this is the same on vista or win7 but don't hesitate to contact me or SGamer8t88 for any help. This zipped version of the demo does not include the updates I have just listed above.

Zelda Projects / [DEMO] The Legend of Zelda Lynna's Fate
« on: December 09, 2009, 06:14:55 am »
Information
The Legend of Zelda Lynna’s Fate is a fan game currently being made by Thomas Georgiadis (shadowlink) and Brayden Houston (sgamer8t88.) The game is based on Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages and takes place after the events of Oracle of Ages.

Plot
The basic idea of the plot is that Link returns back to Lynna City, only to find the once thriving city turned into a bloodstained wasteland. The city has been overrun by Ganon's dark forces and the people of Lynna City have been forced to become slaves to the Dark Lord. It is up to Link, to free this city once again, from the clutches of evil.

Demo Download

Includes install file, and once installed, in the installation folder there is a pdf file. It's very important you read this as you contains much more information about the project!

Also in this demo release we know isn't bug free and some things need to be improved such as movement, scrolling etc (most bugs we are aware of are mentioned in the pdf) and we would appreciate it if you could comment on the game and mention some bugs you may have found.

Discussion / What are some of the best zelda fan games?
« on: November 24, 2009, 02:32:22 am »
I was just wondering if anyone could put together a list of the best zelda fan games around that are completed or very close to be :)

I wouldn't mind playing some to see what I can aspire to with my project (which is very close towards a demo)

Just recently I started a project for my new zelda game The Legend of Zelda Lynna's Fate

I'm currently looking for a programmer to help me with the game, its not that I doubt my ability to program the game, I just feel that it could be moving along much faster if I had another experienced programmer to lend a hand. Programmed in MMF2 btw.

Check out the project page for more details:

by far one of the best harry potter movies so far.

the humour wasnt faggy or just intended for a specific demographic but instead for a wide range of people. the ending was pretty pro as well

"she only likes you because your the chosen one"

"i am the chosen one"
