But it looks so much better then the CG-looking garbage they've been pumping out the past few years... So much controversy over the princess+prince combo, but people need to grow the !@#$% up and realize it's meant to be observed and enjoyed! I for one am stoked to see a decent animation heading for the big screen! Logged

Reputation: +7/-0 Offline Gender: Posts: 2898	I'm a big a Pixar fan as any, but Disney on it's own can NOT do 3D, and that's all it has attempted since 2005 (Home on the range, which was not memorable btw) After looking at a list of past and present ones, apparently they're doing Repunzel in the same style as this one next year! What I have mostly noticed is, that with the 3D movies Disney created themselves, they create the story from scratch. For feature length movies Disney sucks at making the story for scratch. Those animated movies of Disney often are based on fairytales, myths, legends and folklore. This means that the stories have a solid base to begin with. And Disney only has to adapt the stories to make them appealing to children. Adults often do appreciate children's movies, but because these movies are based on wellknown stories, they also appeal to the older public.

He is the one that has spearheaded the whole "Classic Disney" look as he calls it. They have quite a few films lined up in this style the way I understand it. I am looking forward to this. Also, on a side note he is the same guy that headed up all the animation scenes from Enchanted. That was before he got promoted to his new position. Logged

Haven't seen a great animated Disney movie since the 90s. (ah yes Aladdin, Lion King, Mulan etc..) Reputation: +0/-0 Offline Gender: Posts: 756	I've been following this since it was announced. I was so excited when I saw the trailer when I went to go see UP! :] Movie poster is nice, too. Disney really should return to form and do hand drawn things. They should realize it's a dying practice and expand on the possibilities. I have to say, though, I don't agree with the "Disney can't do 3D" statement. Bolt was Disney studios alone without Pixar's help and it was great. I preferred the rendering and overall feel of that movie to a lot of what Pixar has done. But anyway! This movie looks pretty fantastic. Ill most likely be going to the midnight showing. :] Assuming there is one. Haha. Logged
