While I think that children should know the identity of their donor father, it's more important to think about the father's anonymity.

Kids have no reason to need to know the identity of a donor father, or even to know that there WAS a donor father. It doesn't. !@#$%. Matter.

As long as they stay away from risk-factors for diseases, then there's no real need to know who your real daddy was.

The reason Japan doesn't have enough sperm is because of bukkake and gokkun in my humblest opinion.  But yeah, while it is good for children to know their fathers, giving sperm isn't the same as choosing to be a father - rather just the genetic foundation for someone else's burden.
