as a beginner you wouldn't be able to make much more if you got given the engine....you'd get that engine, then soon be asking for another one to do more. but i guess being able to analyse an engine will help you learn more.....start off making simple games like Pong in C++ and work up to something like Zelda.

I was told not to use my thumb by some guys, but Tom Morello does- and look where he is.

using your thumb is bad technique, but Tommy M knows that, so he only uses it when he sees that it plays a particular advantage in a certain situation. he'll revert back to good technique when that situation is over, and thats the secret really. he experimented for at least 2 hours a day (out of his 8 hour daily routine) so he knows lots of handy "bad" techniques.

Mattrach, but only cos he's funny to watch nah, actually sometimes his stuff gets a bit too "random-shred"  for me, JC keeps it a bit more tasteful. JC's best.

I don't think Funtwo really belongs in the same league as those two, not at all. He seems to just do what a lot of guitarists do: play fast stuff capably just not smoothly. This is most evident when you compare his version of Canon Rock to JC's. ... Actually watching it again Funtwo's really isn't anything special at all.

Also JC seems to be the only one who can do the 6string sweeps.

And am I the only one who thinks Mattrach's head looks wayyy too big for his body? lol
