Finally an Okami sequel. I bought the original 6 months ago because of how many people recommended it. It was truly a remarkable game, it blew away twilight princess in my opinion.

Please Welcome:

Aha Chibiterasu!

The DS sequel is set 3 months after the original finishes and will feature the same Celestial brush ability that was in the original.

A video:

It kinda looks like the DS is having a hard time running those graphics. Anyway they'll fix it up in the product. A playable demo will be at the Tokyo Game Show.

Thoughts...

Wow, I'm surprised they would come out with the sequel on the DS, instead of a console... mainly so they could use the strength of the larger consoles to create the immersive cel shaded graphics Okami is known for and the large overworld... I guess this will be a smaller game.
Graphics aside, the DS will be good for the touch screen, of course, and I'm excited to see how it turns out. Looks like the overworld is still going to be fairly large, especially for a DS game. It just looks like the frame rate is a bit slow right now... :x

Disappointed, it would look so great in HD on the 360 or PS3.

For those of you complaining about the framerate.

Well yeah; you get a better framerate when you cut the models and other visual details. It's not like cel shading taxes the system much, and it lets developers use lower quality props.

Cuteness sensors going on overload here.  I never had a system that could play either of the original Okami games, so I'll definitely be picking this one up when it comes out.

What do you mean I need a life?  =P  Hm... Lives... Isn't that something that you get in Super Mario Bros?  You know, those green mushrooms?  That's a life, right?
