Well University quickly approaches and I still am not sure what to do, if soccer doesn't work out.  (I play for my state).  I was thinking about being a graphics (?) for a video gaming company but I don't know what to do.  Can you guys tell me what the pay is for all of the graphics jobs are?  (3D Animation, 3D Modeling, Sketch Art, Level Design, etc?)  If you could that would be great!

Thanks,

Look around here, http://www.gamedev.net/gamejobs/

But i can tell you game design jobs are pretty well paying, as they need a huge amount of skill and dedication. Hell a server programmer can make around ??70,000 in a year. Not to bad.

Lol theres even an entry level programmer position offering 401k.

Depends on the job, look at the site, they all list what qualifications they want.

Also have a look at gamasutra the have quite a few jobs advertised.

for flash, gotoandplay.it and flashkit are good...I don't know for the other two. Photoshop is pretty simple to learn just by tinkering a bit though.

You need high experience in Maya 7(+), though that software costs... 5, 000 - 10, 000(USD). It pays big. You could download a demo perhaps, and play around. But university, go 3D. It pays big, is fun, and gives you fans! ^_^.

Maya comes with tutorial videos!
You can get the personal learning edition for free.
Theres a (slightly old) '3d tools overview' here:

I've found that if you are going into graphics art you are going to need experience in a popular 3D program such as Maya or 3DS Max, Photoshop, Flash, Illistrator and Dreamweaver. It aslo would not hurt to learn a bit of C or another programming language just so you could be able to communicate with the programmers.
