Has anyone here tried Freenet yet?
It's an experimental kind of p2p network that'd been in development a long time, and the basic goal is to have the capability to have fully anonymous and uninterrupted freedom of speech on the net.  It's decentralized, it works well, and there are reports of it working in places like China where net use is restricted.  I'm trying to get it to run on my computer right now w/ a few small obstacles (faulty JVM it looks like, perhaps I should reinstall java).
Anyone else who uses Fnet, perhaps we can exchange node info?  I need to add some to connect still.

I have not tried it. But I have tried Tor, which has similar goals but works different (it's not really P2P). There's also GNUnet, which is more similar to Freenet but offers F2F (friend to friend) for restricting connections to only your trusted friends, but I'm not sure if plausible deniability could work in that system.

Freenet added a lot of F2F with version .7,  It has a full darknet system now.

It can function as that, but more or less it's like an internet within an internet.  Using your normal browser you can access freesites (sites on freenet), host them, transfer files over Fnet, send messages to people you've exchanged node references with (it's like a PM system for email), etc.  All of it is as anonymous as possible, since once you exchange node references with about 3 people, and are actively connected to them, you can access everyone else's nodes without your IP and other information getting forwarded.  It's like an internet where every site you visit is through a proxy, sorta =P
