There are hundreds of reasons why that could have happened.  No need to get too concerned.  How long was it out for you anyway?

5 min. or so, I tried all sorts of links, the chat only worked through an inderect link too... I don't know, maybe nothing.

Yeah I experienced it. But its back now so, isn't your problem solved lol? Seems like every time something like this happens somebody makes a topic "was the site just down for 2 seconds?" Maybe it was, but seeing as how you can make the topic, its obviously back now lol.

Is it reeaallly necessary? :P

Actually, the server has been frequently kicking out on me. Just suddenly, it's gone, and then a few minutes later it's back. But it has happened more than once, so.. you guys may want to contact superpass and ask them what's up.
