From what I understand of what this is, I don't have much of a problem with it. If a person is dying (as in actually going to die, with pretty much nothing to be done about it) they should be allowed to choose when it happens, and go through as painless an experience as possible.

This allows a person to make the decision, talk with their family and friends about it, and say whatever they feel is necessary, and let them do the same, and pass as painlessly as possible. It's a good thing.

I see people maliciously using a suicide machine to whack other people and pawn it off on suicide :p

^I basically agree with this completely.  My only question is what if someone accidentally trips and hit the button?  WHAT IF?!

That's pretty much why it needs some form of security. I don't really know how the thing this guy made works, as I only skimmed over the article.

Why would you invent such a thing. Ever.
Some people live in so much pain everyday that the only way to get over it is suicide everyday is just torture. I don't see a problem with this other than it would contradict many religious beliefs.

It is also not a suicide booth as you do not put one in public. How would they dispose of the bodies?

There would be a tube that opens up and sucks them into the ground. Insta-Burial.

Futurama is always right.

I wonder if we'll ever get them out in public like futurama though, maybe if we end up massively overpopulated...
