Title: Your ideal "ZFGC" dev team?
Post by: Mamoruanime on March 03, 2011, 08:36:12 pm
The idea of this is simple; If you had to make a team of ZFGCers to make a game, who would you choose and why? You can't choose yourself, so choose wisely ;3

This is my ideal team:

Programming: Infini - Could sneeze and make a fun game :P Nuff said.
Programming: therabidwombat - Very skilled coder and "Fini' approved!"
Graphics: DJvenom - Makes some of the most beautiful sprites I've seen when he's put his mind to it :D
Sound: tssf - While remakes/demakes are his strong suit, he makes some pretty nice original compositions
Writing: Dantz - This is a no brainer; Dantz is the king of writingz

Marketing: TRM - No joke, that man knows how to draw a crowd with nothing.

Anyone want a WoW Wallpaper?

I'd throw King Mob in there, he's pretty talented in most fields on his own. Also Wally and Pyru just because.

That's a good point about TRM on marketing ;3 seriously he could probably sell !@#$% to someone who OD'd on exlax, and with someone else actually making the product, maybe they'll actually get it in the end.

My best skills would lie in the following fields:

-Story writing / ideas
-Game design
-Testing
-Marketing

I am also an adequate spriter.

EDIT: Misread the post, guess I can't nominate myself. DJVenom is a great pixel artist. Porkchop for making ridiculous, semi-abstract videos about the game on YouTube.

U GUISE...

EDIT: I wouldn't mind having imfletcher along as co-writer/scenario designer. He rules and is honestly a better writer than I am.

I'm like that.. I'm good at creating ideas and vast plotlines and characters, situations, etc.. But when it comes to actually putting it into readable prose on paper, I'm garbage.. at least by higher standards.

I'm too overly descriptive and technical in my writing, I have so many complex ideas and visuals in my mind that it's impossible to put them into words without boring my reader. Shame.

Yeah, I feel that. The only way you can get better is with practice.

I recommend reading good fantasy authors like George R. R. Martin and Patrick Rothfuss. These guys are both master writers and worldbuilders, and have influenced my style a lot. You'll notice reading them that they manage to build incredibly technical and complex worlds without really forcing much on the reader and still maintaining the essence of the story.

I think Jack Tompson would have to go in my "mistreated intern" category.

He's a member of ZFGC; look it up.

I'd go with this too, since I can't really choose myself for composing and Q.K. was the one that inspired me to start thanks to his excellent composition skills.

Damnit, Darklight....I was going to put you on there as a composer with Q.K. but I wasn't sure if you still did that these days.
