Wow, they're small and still nice looking. Infact, it might not even mess up the text if you used them. You'd know what I was talking about if you've ever been to a forum with a 64x64 smiley of Michael Jackson dancing or a galloping green thing, ect.

Thanks, the purpose was to infact make them small and still make the emotions visible. I believe I've succeeded in that.

Great job! The only thing I have to say about it though is that on some of the smilies, you can see a little square under the mouth where the chin is which stands out a lot. Was it intention not to shade the chin because the rest is so detailed!
