It's way too small, and the slide has become impossible to reach now.

A great demo and one of the most complete engines I've seen here in years. The big slowdown that most people experience has something to do with the enemies. Because after I killed all the enemies in a single room, my fps raised a lot. A quick side note about the engine itself! pressing c twice cancels the sword slash animation and start it again. I think you should do that you pressing it several times does nothing.

I think the tents don't fit because of the angle they're facing. But besides that it's looking great. :)

Good progress, Ahmio :). It's good to see that somebody was able to make it as far as the Deku Tree in the past OOT2D incarnations.
There is a GB style OOT2D that went to the end of the deku tree, and was pretty damn awesome as well, btw :D

To the end? are you sure?

The GB style OOT2D I remember is Knightmare's... and that only went up to getting into the Deku Tree...
Then you definitely didn't play it through, because you where able to kill queen Gohma and get the kokiri emerald!

Actually I like this idea. I think it is a fresh take for the series, not just "Wind Waker on land." Trains are cool, I love trains. TRAINS! I think this game will be fine, though I've come to dislike the Phantom Hourglass style because it isn't detailed enough, even if it is pretty. It just doesn't bring out the world of Hyrule. This game should be good, though.

What I am disappointed with, is that Nintendo announced a new Zelda game. I don't know why that bothers me, I was just hoping for a longer break.
Dude what's wrong with you? It took ages before Nintendo finally announced a new Zelda game again!

Now a new Zelda game for the Wii as well, and I have to change mah pants. XD

Hey guys, long time no see. Got some news.

First thing is, contrary to what you may have heard, I haven't taken The Shadowgazer to another board. ZFGC has been a good home to this game and I wasn't gonna just abandon it without an explanation.

So what has been going on? A couple of ex/current ZFGCers know but I've put off making it common knowledge until I actually knew the situation myself.

Some time ago I was approached by the owner of a development studio who wanted to see if I was open to the idea of turning The Shadowgazer into an original IP for a potential DS/PSP/mobile release. After some deliberation, and having checked the guy's credentials, I agreed. Basically, I'd be stupid to pass an opportunity like that up, right? :P Well, as I say, that was some time ago and only recently has it turned out that it's NOT gonna happen now.

Without going into why (out of professional courtesy) the resulting situation is that I've been working on turning The Shadowgazer into an original game for months now and The Legend of Zelda: The Shadowgazer as-was has been all but abandoned.

Which leaves me with a decision to make: do I press on with turning the game into my own, original, intellectual property, or do I pick up where I left off, making my little Zelda fan game? There's a lot for me to consider there and I really don't know at this stage which way it could go.

So yeah, just thought I'd let you know what's been going on. I appreciate there's little in the way of details there but I'll update again when I make my decision. Feel free to coax me one way or the other... ;)

Cheers,

KM
Too bad that deal didn't work out for you, because it could've been a entry pass to the game industry. However if it worked out I think it would be marked as a zelda clone. I think you should just continue your Zelda fangame. And once you're finished with it start a real original game. And if it's real good, who knows what it might bring you. :)

None of the above.

Zelda II: Adventure of Link

I'd give it a 3d face lift like what they did with Castlevania for the PSP.
Possibly have someone rip models from SSB or something.

No one really touches z2 and it would be nice to see something different for once.
Plus, you can "fix" some of the things that were criticized with it and/or add new features.

It's a basic sidescroller with rpg elements that would be somewhat simple to code and work together with other fangame coders.

The only main stepping stone would be getting a 3d modeler.
Lol while we are at it why don't we remake the crappy CDI Zelda as well?

I saw this movie yesterday with Deku_stick and his little brother. And we lolled hard when we heard that hallelujah song in the sex scene... XD

I own Umbrella Chronicles and it's okay... but ANOTHER on-rail shooter doesn't get me excited at all! But we could've seen this one coming since Umbrella Chronicles sold pretty well.

I think he means "made his own" as in his own substitute. I doubt he'd steal stuff. Anyway, here is the overworld map as of now:

Well I hope he means that...

Anyway that overworld is looking very HAWT! :D

Whoops, I didn't saw LTGH's seashells, stupid me. I made my own, but I've finished it somewhat. I hope you like it and I will make a version with LTGH's seashell.

**Update** Added option 3 with LTGH's seashell.
How do you mean "I made my own" ? You didn't create those shells! They're just simply recolors of the ones Nintendo created for Link's awakening...

Well I bough this game a few weeks ago so this game is still pretty new to me and the survival mode sounds cool! :)

I just wanted to say that I started working on the DS version! :) The main focus at the moment is getting the graphics ready. And those who didn't like the old skool arcade graphics, should be happy to hear that my friend Deku_stick is working on recoloring all the sprites. I also got a little bit programming done. But I'm not sure when I've finished with this DS version. Since this project is not my main project. Because school assignments are much more important. And I have to code a network game and after that me and some other people in my class are going to create a game together. So when I'm not working on one of those projects I'll be working on this one.

I also think that the DS version will be a little more challenging then my PC version since as you probably now by now that the level is divided on the top and bottom screen. This means there will be more vehicles, logs, and turtles. But I'm planning on giving the player a little bit more time. So don't worry that it will be too difficult! ;)

Oh and here's a little preview of the graphical improvement!

enlarged for showing purpose only, ingame the sprite is twice as small.

Discussion / Re: Zelda Future
« on: March 01, 2009, 01:25:53 pm »
The Legend of Zelda serie has always been involved with myserious and magical things. And I believe those things work perfectly fine in a fantasy world. But those things look incredibly lame in a more "realistic" world. I don't think that The Legend of Zelda serie mixed with the future is a good combination. That's why you won't ever see a official Zelda game in future settings.

Not too long ago I was excited about the news that Deadspace was coming to the Wii. But guess what? The game is ON-RAILS....  :-[ What the !@#$% EA?  :(

source

Why didn't you expect this <_<?
Because the original Dead Space was not on-rails?...

I think hes trying to say "Why didn't expect the fact its most likely going to be !@#$%"
Because I'm an optimist.
If you were an optimist, wouldn't you still be hoping the game will be good? Obviously your optimism can only go so far. Just because it's on-rails shooter doesn't mean it'll be terrible. EA could end up doing something really cool with the genre.

I don't care, though. Don't care.
Oh I DO belief that the game can be good. I'm just not a big fan of on-rail shooters. But lucky me... EA said in a interview that it's not a on-rail shooter but a "Guided First Person Experience" this changes everything! :P

Wow... this is IMPRESSIVE! :D

Make a DSi version when that is possible, and use the new features. That would be cool.
And about sellnig this, it was just an example to show how much i like this  XD

p.s If you get better score then me, i will get even more.  ;)
The DSi can run any DS game that doesn't make use of the GBA slot.
